I am very impressed and amazed with the professional service I received here! I was also educated about my transmission which has potentially saved my thousands of dollars. I had no idea that my transmission fluid was supposed to be changed every 50, 000 km! When they checked my fluid it was in bad shape and I immediately had it changed. My car is running smoother now, my transmission is happy and now I know I will be in every 50, 000 km to have it changed to prevent having to change my transmission! Thank you Pro-Tech for educating me about my transmission. These guys are definitely a leader when it come to the health and longevity of your car!!

Pleasant Surprise, I noticed my Dodge Journey was leaking a lot of transmission fluid, and was going to cost a lot of money to fix it. I went online and checked for shops in Edmonton and found Pro Tech Transmissions, I read their reviews ad everything looked good, and I'm glad I did, this shop was amazing, i dropped my vehicle, off, unsure as to what the outcome would be. I was very impressed when i talked to them and they already had it up on the hoist and working on it. They told me what was wrong and what the cost would be, i was very impressed with what I heard, they ordered the parts and fixed my vehicle. The best part is they only fix what needs to be fixed, they don't try to screw you like a lot of other shops....... I highly recommend people to try them first before they go elsewhere.....

I'm not from Edmonton so when I needed to take my car in for a transmission issue, I was at a loss of where to go. After some Googling and reading reviews, I gave Pro Tech Transmission a call and they were absolutely awesome. Very friendly, helpful and accommodating to deal with on the phone. They answered all my questions before I even brought my car in and gave me quotes so I knew what I would be dealing with. Once I did bring my car in, they were great. There was a mishap with AMA towing my car to the wrong spot and the owner Rob had to step out and when he did he stopped at a few nearby shops to find out where my car was and direct the AMA tow truck driver to the correct shop. Patti was very helpful and had all the paperwork ready for me and was just lovely to chat with. They called in a timely manner and let me know what was wrong with my vehicle and had the quote all ready. Once we made the decision to rebuild the transmission, it was done within a few days and I was able to pick it up with no issues, even was able to collect AMA rewards on the cost of the rebuild. An added bonus is that Patti and Rob bring their cute little dog Ty with them to work and he is more than happy to except some affection. Any place that brings their dog to work with them, must be a pretty wholesome and good business in my books. Hopefully I don't have any more transmission issues but if I did in the future, I would be more than happy to return to deal with Pro Tech Transmissions :)

There is an obvious sense of pride and trust you feel when you enter a clean, bright and organized shop and you talk to the owner directly about your vehicles issues. Being from out of town I arranged a meeting time for our vehicles assessment, Rob was right there to meet us and within a short time we had an estimate for repair. Our vehicle was promptly repaired the next day and the final bill right in the range discussed. I will definitely return to Pro Tech with any future work and would highly recommend them to anyone. It's good to know there are still trustworthy shops out there that care about their work and reputation. Keep up the great work, our vehicle is running awesome!

To whom it may concern: For some reason, after Pro-Tech responded to my honest review below, it was deleted. I now post it again. I have 50+ years in the repair and high performance industry. Currently doing a custom build on a new and high performance truck for myself. I picked up a performance transmission reprogramming kit from one of my US suppliers for about half of what it costs in Canada. Pro-Tech was contacted by email for a price to install. I quote the answer received from them below. "We do not install customer supplied parts". No apology, no explanation. With an unprofessional attitude and answer like this, there is no question that Pro-Tech will never see one of my vehicles, or the vehicles of the DIY high performance industry I am involved in. May 11, 2021 Edit (After Pro-Tech response). Please keep reading. Allow me to recap. In good faith, I contacted Pro-Tech for a price to install a shift kit that I purchased. I was offended by the abrupt, uncalled for, unprofessional attitude and answer they responded with. Please read the Pro-Tech response to my review below. They have responded with little more than unprofessional attacks on myself, and attempts to discredit my review. What Pro-Tech has not done, is address why I wrote this review, and that being their unprofessional response above. This review is based entirely on my being offended by the unprofessional attitude and answer I received on first contact. NOTHING ELSE! What Pro-Tech is rambling on about is totally unrelated and irrelevant. Allow me to repeat from above. There is no question that Pro-Tech will never see one of my vehicles, or the vehicles of the DIY high performance industry I am involved in.

I can’t even start to express how happy I am with this company. They provide fair honest evaluation before they even start. This is the kind of place you could send you wife or daughter to for help and not fear they’d get taken advantage of.

Told me my "reliable" Hondas transmission will cost 6 grand to remedy. Can't fault them for that but a simple 5 min scan could tell them that an already diagnosed p0741 code was or was not a a torque converter solenoid failure. If it was the solenoid, it could be replaced and life would go on. If not the transmission was shot and needed a complete rebuild. It was the latter and they milked me for over 100 dollars extra on a completely unnecessary road test to "confirm" the computer data. If the solenoid was fine and the problem was obviously a bunk transmission. Charge me my 20-50 bucks for that overpriced computer data and send me home a broken and broke man. The "confirmation" test drive that I could have already told you reveals rough shifting was unnecessary, expensive, revealed no new information and as far as I can tell is predatory. Google maps will someday save consumers from this stuff. Not for me and not today but someday. Caveat: I have worked in mechanics and have thousands in tools and diagnostic equipment BUT am not a transmission expert. If for some reason excluding the selanoid was insufficient to tell me my transmission is fd, I apologize, will delete this post and repost a favorable comment. However, with what I know and experienced, I simply wanted you to rule out a TCC seloinoid as a possible fix. A 5 min procedure with your computer that most independent mechanics (including mine) don't own. You quickly did this then racked up my bill with extra completely unnecessary "testing". Do better. Charge what you need to to diagnose then stop. Care to discuss this with me in private or public I welcome it and am both willing and able to understand if this is a simple misunderstanding. But from here you used and abused me and I think others should know!
