We will be continuing to operate by APPOINTMENT ONLY.

To schedule an appointment for cremation services, license renewal or to make a donation, please contact us at the shelter at 306-763-6110.

To view an adoptable animal we require you to submit an application FIRST. Once we receive your application we will contact you based on approval, and will schedule an appointment with you. Please understand that we may receive a large quantity of applications for a specific animal, in this case we will ONLY be contacting the best suited applicant to schedule an appointment to meet the animal and continue the adoption process. If this applicant decides not to adopt, we will again go through the applications and contact the best suited home for the specific animal.

Understand that with a limited staff we do not have the ability to contact every applicant. If you want an update of the status of your application, contact us and we will update you.

Our mission and goal is to find suitable and successful homes that match the needs of the animals in our care. Each animal has specific needs and requirements and we choose adopters based on who best meets those requirements for that specific animal.

We will not be scheduling appointments for casual viewing and visitation of the animals.

By remaining our operations by appointment only, it allows our staff to spend the appropriate time with our adopters to make sure the animals are paired with suitable homes. As well as to provide the best services we can for our adopters. Adopting and committing to an animal is a big deal, and a process we need to take our diligence with. For the sake of our adopters, and for the sake of the animals.

By operating this way, we have seen a significantly lower rate of animals returning to the shelter. Additionally it has caused a huge reduce of stress on staff and the animals at the shelter. The animals have significantly lower anxiety levels as the shelter is a quieter and less rambunctious atmosphere. And when the animals come out to visit their potential adopters, they are not facing a large quantity of people trying to get their attention. Instead they can focus on the adopter(s) and take their time earning their trust.

This decision has been made in the best interest and wellbeing of the shelter animals, adopters and the staff here at the shelter.

We appreciate your support and understanding!

I’ve almost never rated anything 5 stars but I would 10/10 recommend this place to anyone looking for a cat or dog. Staff is incredibly friendly. Today we were handled by Ashlee and she was extremely passionate, knowledgeable, and kind. I love that this location has rooms where all the cats roam around together it really makes a difference in finding the right one for you. The place was surprisingly clean with no overpowering smells. We had to circle the block once before we actually found the place. My brother and I are from Saskatoon but it was well worth the drive. My ONLY disappointment, and a very minimal one, was that several cats were in a quarantine room because of a flu going around. Many of the cats had yet to be spayed and neutered but that makes total sense given that they currently have ~100+ cats and are always getting new ones. TLDR: best adoption centre I have ever been to.

Just recently adopted a pup named Strix (who we changed his name to Finn)! Prince Albert SPCA made the adopting experience super easy. As well, they were kind enough to let us trial him for 2-weeks to see if he’d be a good fit. Finn already knew some basic commands upon taking him home which was I was super pleased with. I would recommend adopting from here the staff are incredible! Adopt don’t shop. Thank you for my new furever friend❀️

So many animals looking for homes. The staff here do so much ... even giving 24/7 care to ones that need it. The effort behind the scenes is amazing! Definitely can use extra volunteers for so much ... even doing dishes for animals or laundry for the bedding. Not to mention much needed donations! Great job everyone at the SPCA

I have never been to this location however Google keeps pestering me to review this place. What I can say is our cat was very ill and the people from the SPCA in Saskatoon told us to put her on an raw meat Diet and saved her life. The picture below is my dog

Extremely poor communication skills. They missed out getting one of their dogs adopted because they would rather ship it to a SPCA in Red Dear Alberta for a potential adoption rather then give someone local an opportunity.. Be Sure that right after you apply that you call them if you want a dog because other wise you will not get it. When I voice my concern I was told the sob story about them needing more room and they really just want him adopted. I understand the struggle but they had someone interested in a dog standing right in front of them. I also found out despite me applying on Thursday they were going to ship him out monday but something had come up and things had changed so then they called me, not before. Despite them offering to test out his prey drive by putting him in a room with a cat to ease our worry about our own cats. They soured my experience. I was put through an emotional rollercoaster and am extremely annoyed that they missed out on an opportunity to get one of their dogs adopted. They need to seriously review their communication and policies on how they handle getting dogs adopted. You have lost a potential future adoption from your organization as I will next be applying with you again.

When visiting the Prince Albert SPCA I was so happy to witness the level of concern and care the workers have for the animals there. I was treated so well and delighted to be adopting. The worker that handled my case, Laura, was excellent. The process was professional and I felt they had both my and my new pet's interests at heart. I am delighted to welcome my new cat, Oliver (changed his name), to our home. He is amazing and so loved already! Thank you PA SPCA, keep up the amazing work!
