2010 – Primavera’s past is rich with cooking from the heart. It is run by Ada Scanga. It all started in Lago, Italy where her family owned a restaurant/bar/discoteca and her father loved the land and its fruits, herbs and grains. The restaurant was called ‘Lucciola’ which means ‘firefly’ in Italian.
Ada learned about the food and entertainment business from her family and when the time came, she took over the business.
In 1995 she moved to Canada and began raising her family with her husband Quinto. Although cooking at the Polish Hall and for Toni’s Bakery was rewarding, she needed to once have a place of her own again. In 2010 her and Quinto purchased the Primavera and have not looked back.”

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good Italian food for $12 buffet. Generally the bands are good here, play good music for the crowd. Find the intermission music to be too loud and too much, makes for a long night.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Working with Ada is difficult. She is hard to understand, changes the terms of the contract after it is signed, and doesn't show up for meetings.
We signed her to cater our wedding but after several changes made without our knowledge, additional charges for basic things (coffee cups and saucers) that weren't previously disclosed, and her failure to show up at meetings we decided to go with someone else.
The food is a solid 5 out of 10, not bad but certainly as good as it was made out to be. Ada is great at decorating the plates, but its clear that she cuts costs and the quality of the food suffers.
The worst part is that we canceled months in advance of our wedding because we lost faith in Primavera's ability to properly cater our wedding, and she refused to give us back our deposit. Very frustrating

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our experience at Primavera and Ada (the owner) was very unprofessional and disappointing. Ada made promises that she didn't keep and changed what was on the Contract. She gave us a price with taxes included and put "No HST" on the contract but then charged us 15% GST on the bill. She would not provide us with "glass" water glasses on the tables and gave us plastic glasses that are appropriate for a kid's party. She did not respect Covid social distancing. She would not set up 2 additional tables and she came out and mingled, touched and kissed my daughter's forehead making rude remarks to her. We were appalled by her behavior. I would not recommend this place to anyone!! The food was not what I expected. Chicken cutlets should not be bits and pieces of chicken in our opinion, they served frozen vegetables....really not impressed. My sister in law had to serve coffee to tables not served and my sister had to serve water to the tables! My guests were aware of what was happening...unbelievable!
