About Prana Family Medical Centre

Originally called Regent Medical Center as founded by Dr. P. Tomy back in the 70s, Prana Medical Centre has always been an integral part of Transcona community serving generations for more than 40 years. Prana is a family medical center with a walk-in service as well. Prana Pharmacy is also present on-site. Under the new management, the clinic has been recently renovated. We also extended our walk-in working hours during weekdays. Our staff are eager to help in every possible way. Our appointment rooms and waiting area are clean and bright. We look forward to being your home clinic for all your health and medical needs.

C	Crystal on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I recently had found Dr. Ediriwickrama. I had my first appointment ( meet & greet) to see if it was a good fit. I knew instantly that she was the Doctor for me. We had my file transferred and she’s been nothing but companionate, professional and Efficient with the tests and referrals I need. From the day I submitted my new patient information online the receptionist (Sheri I believe is her name) has been amazing. She’s very professional, cheerful and knowledgeable. The first time I arrived at the clinic she made me feel welcome answered all my questions and I’ve noticed that she treats every patient this way ( patients in person and on the phone). The lady doesn’t skip a beat and has such a warm smile. This clinic is very lucky to have such an amazing Doctor & Receptionist in their office. Today I had the pleasure of meeting the pharmacist Robert. I picked up my prescription and inquired about a vitamin I take as I’m starting to run low and wanted know if they carried it and he gave me prices and dosages and told me that they will have it when I come in next time. And again super friendly and knowledgeable! Due to my health issues and concerns I was nervous to make this big change with a new Doctor and I have to say it has been a smooth and easy transition to come to this clinic thanks to Dr. Ediriwickrama and her top notch receptionist! Looking forward to this new relationship and medical care from this team!

You have made my days better just hearing your cheerful voice. Thank you for all your help and assistance when booking appointments and taking time to listen to me. Hope that others can learn from you. Some of the receptionist are extremely rude and couldn't care what I had to say. I'd rather to only deal with you when I call.

The system runs smoothly in an amazing atmosphere. The doctors are happy to help and I could tell they love their job. Overall, this is the greatest service I have received in a long time. I recommend this clinic 100% to anyone looking for one and honestly even switch completely. Just incredible!!!

It is very rare to see someone as true, candid, and sincere as Charmaine in the sea of hypocrites nowadays. Good thing I followed Charmaine's advice over the phone to go instead to the nearest urgent care. Charmaine was so very concerned of a possible leg embolism and a heart attack despite of my persistence that I feel fine. The moment I went to Concordia Urgent Care, I experienced chest pain and luckily the entire trained medical staffs were available to help and transfer me to Saint Boniface. Thank you Charmaine for considering me as a human and not as dollar sign!!!
V	Veerinder Sidhu on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My wife took our son in for checkup because he has been coughing and have had a runny nose for about 5 days now. Upon entering the clinic the front desk lady told her "you have to leave now, and call to make a phone appointment. He's coughing and shouldn't be here at all." That is one great way of taking care of patients, I guess. It would be nice if the doctors can look at the patient in person because over the phone they won't know what is going on with a patient (Specially a kid). My wife did mention that our son does not have covid, however the front lady did not listen to anything and told her to leave. I would like to ask the doctors of how a phone appointment in such a case makes any sense when they cannot look at the patient in person? Worst experience ever and we have been going to this centre from last 2 years... never again... The doctors and the pharmacy have been great. The issue is always with the front desk at this place (unless Sheri is the one attending patients at the front desk).
