★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There are no more bear cans around the town/botanical beach, so you have to take your garbage to this guy. Don't go after 5... he doesn't have a gate with clear hours and will yell at you from his trailer atop the garbage heap.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Port Renfrew's little recycling center is run by the man who we now like to refer to as "St. Evan". He completely saved our trip up from Victoria after we foolishly showed up in town with a basically empty gas tank, and found out that the marina (the only other gas in town, which we had been counting on) is closed for the winter! He sold us 25L for the same price we'd have paid at a gas station, even though we were expecting it would probably be double or triple the normal price... and, he refused even to take a tip!
Thanks so much, Evan! You help make Port Renfrew an even more welcoming place.
