★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Port Eliza lodge unfortunately has been run down by the previous owners (Rogers fishing lodge) and appears to still be struggling. Buying a fishing lodge at the best of times I could imagine would be a challenge but buying one and then Covid 19 hitting and all your American customers not able to come is just real bad luck. We stayed there the 7th of July, the lodge was at about 50% capacity. The rooms was clean, but the whole place needs work. Two of the docks was partly sunk. The food wasn’t that great and everyone was waiting for close to one hour in the morning to get their breakfast and bagged lunch for the day. Hopefully the owners get better organized on the future. The entire staff was working very hard but it was complete disorganized confusion.I will not say it is a terrible place to stay but I will say there is many other better places to stay on the west coast of Vancouver island. I will probably never stay there again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great 4 days fishing at Port Eliza. Thank you Robert and Maggie for being great hosts. Fishing was slow, but we did catch some Springs & Halibut!
Lodge is rustic, but in a sheltered inlet close to the fishing areas. We'll be back again next year!
