UPDATE: My dog just turned 13 May 1st. This is by far still the best animal hospital ive been to. Michelle who works front desk is amazing(my favorite). Everyone that works there is great, they treat pet parents good but most importantly they treat peoples pets very well. There is not one thing negative i can say. Karma has had to see different doctors there and they have all been so good to my dog. Dr Gaind is absolutely amazing, he really cares for your pet and does not leave you with questions unanswered. He is professional, good sense of humor and very knowledgeable. I like people that be all those things in one. I actually request him when i make appointments for Karma. I switched vets a couple of times, until i found this one, been here ever since. We've been coming here since Karma was 6 My only regret is I wish we would've start coming here sooner

LIkely the best animal hospital in the Lower Mainland! The vets and staff here truly care about your animals' well being. Being a volunteer at a local dog rescue myself, I only look for the best clinic for my 3 dogs. Ollie recently was diagnosed with Addison's Disease and now with unexplained rises in liver enzymes. The vets always explain everything so clearly and are passionate and considerate. A referral to CanWest was sent right away. Even with the complexity of the situation, they still advise the best care plan for Ollie. We will keep coming back to PoCo Animal Hospital even though we need to travel a bit further for the best care to our dogs.

Got my kitten vaccinated and spayed there, overall I'm happy with their service, the doctor called me right after the surgery and explained everything in detail, I found them respectful and supportive, the incision was very small and healed very well . Not sure about the price as they were my first option ,but it seemed pretty reasonable to me We will definitely go back :) Photo of my kitty post surgery :)

Not the best experience with this clinic. Had to do a lot of paperwork before the appointment for a simple rabies shot for my dog. Unnecessary and frustrating! At the clinic instead of that single rabies shot, my dog got two extra shot, one of them totally pointless because it's required for US, I checked later. Plus, I've been charged for so called Wellness exam/consultation - the vet (Dr.Al-Bassam) tried to see my dog's ears and he couldn't even manage to do; he looked like he's seeing a dog for the first time in his life!!! And that was all about wellness exam. I should dispute the charge because this is ridiculous but just let go. Anyway, I will never go this place anymore.

Called in looking for a replacement syringe (non needle) for my dogs medication. I explained my dog was recovering from surgery that was done in West Van and rather than drive all the way back out there I asked if this vet could offer a replacement syringe. I was told that they would only sell me the syringe if I bought another bottle of the medication (that I already had) with it. I explained I only needed the syringe and they flat out refused. Pretty awful business practice but a great way to show you care not about the well being of people's pets and only about maximizing profit on an opportunity. Poor form PCAH. Be better humans.

We have always trusted this animal hospital and their staff with our dog! We have always felt like their service was compassionate and always a fair value. For years we have been telling our friends and family about this animal hospital as we wanted them to experience the same type of care for their animals that we did. Our recent visit to the animal hospital for our dog changed our opinion. I’m not saying that the care of the animals has changed in any way, because they are still great with the treatment of animals. However, the thing that always kept me from changing to other animal hospitals is the fact that I never felt like I was being taken advantage of with the medications and treatment prescribed. We have taken our dog here multiple times for very similar skin issues over the years, and we have never had to pay as much for medication as we did this time. When I asked one of the staff what the reason was for the major increase in prescription costs, her response is that this is no longer a family owned business. We paid at least $200 more than what would be expected in medications and the appointment itself went up by almost $20. I can accept an increase in cost due to rising operating costs, but I cannot accept just simply the feeling of being gouged. This came to a head when we had the follow up appointment to re-examine the health issues that we originally came in to get treated. There has always been a follow up appointment for any health issues that require treatment. The difference this time is that they charged us $65 for the follow up appointment. We’ve never been charged for this before. It’s unfortunate that such a great animal hospital is changing in this way, and it’s making us reconsider whether we continue taking our dog here.

We have been going to Port Coquitlam Animal Hospital for five years for our 6 rescue babies. They have been amazing, compassionate and extremely knowledgeable in diagnosing rare conditions in some and regular visits for less severe treatments. They have seen us through the most unbelievably hard times and also the most simple, all the while making us and our beautiful babies feel like nothing less than family. They are all amazing people who have the biggest hearts and truly are the best at what they do!
