★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice way to get acquainted with our local waterfront history. Run by a local non-profit organization. They have historical artifacts & pictures going back to the very early days on the waterfront. You can walk the pier and see the lighthouse. Look at restored local vessels that worked in various industries. They also have a lifeboat from Bamfield on display over at the Harbour Quay. Interesting fact: The person that Bamfield is named after is actually named Banfield, somehow over the years it morphed into Bamfield. The displays in the Maritime Discovery Centre do change from time to time, so it's always a good idea to check back to see what's new.
