Alberni Charters

Myself and my boyfriend went on a Sockeye Charter with Orest and it was beyond wonderful! Not only was he knowledgeable and experienced, he was also one of the kindest people I've ever met! It's very clear that Orest is a good, kind-hearted and hard-working individual who has a real zest for life and passion for fishing. He made the entire experience fabulous and even made us pancakes! He was great at teaching us about salmon and gave great instruction without being overbearing. I've gone on other fishing charters in the past, and they were okay, but going with Orest on Alberni Charters was by far, the best fishing charter I've ever been on. I will 100% book with him again and have already recommended him to pretty much anyone who will listen! Do not hesitate for a moment in booking a charter with him. Thank you Orest!!!

Orest went above and beyond for our larger group of ten!!! AMAZING hospitality from this sweet man who had fresh coffee brewing upon boarding, cooked us up some fresh snacks, and not only cleaned up our catches but showed us how to properly!! Knowledgeable and went out of his way to source out some local oysters to add to our BOUNTIFUL harvest of sockeye salmon, prawns, and even a rouge octopus (who we sent back to his home) but what a cool experience! He’s got everything you need on his spacious boat for a full day on the ocean! So happy my first ocean fishing experience was guided by this gem of a gentleman!! 10/10 would recommend! THANK YOU OREST!!!!

I was skeptical at first not going to lie, only because I've been deep sea fishing in Mexico and it put a bitter taste in my mouth about chartered fishing trips... but this trip with Orest put Mexico to shame and turned me into a very humble guy when it comes to fishing... Orest, i cant thank him enough for the trip he gave us... if your wanting fish... this is your guy.. over the course of 2 days i was listening to his radio of other fishing boats in the area talking about the fish being slow and not biting... but Orest knew where to go... and coached us the entire day... we were able to catch our fill (x3)… i think we reeled in about 60 fish... and let them go, we had enough time to even fish for rock fish, halibut and even do some crabbing... let me tell you... Orest your fish tacos were wicked... He has multiple pick up spots for convenience and will work with you on where you would like to be picked up to go fishing, if you want to be picked up in Alberni, you can... but id strongly recommend you don't only for the simple fact that it'd take about 3 hours out of your fishing trip just to be picked up and make it out to his fishing hole... id say you either Take the rugged road to Poett Nook Marina, or fly into Bamfield and be put on fish with in mins. he always has the coffee on, and is great for conversation... he takes pictures the entire time... and lets you enjoy the fishing... he even took a drone video... of me and my son reeling in a fish... and unfortunately not landing him in the net... :) He teaches you how to set your own hooks, and what depth to fish at... There is nothing bad i can say about him or his boat... he went the extra mile... and was the kind of guy you could call family, almost like an uncle that you love hanging out with. we will be back for many years to come just to fish with him. Also something i want to mention is to bring your fish back to Port Alberni if you can... and look up "Double R Meats" super awesome guy there who will freezer pack your fish for yah... way cheaper than any where else in town. and he has it done with in 24 hours... located on 3030 3rd Ave

One day I'll never forget. Wonderful service, great boat, beautiful location.Orest and Mike hosted a incredible day for the family. Cooked one of the fish for lunch for the best fish tacos I've ever had. Would highly recommend.

We used Alberni Charters for our fishing trip this year and we certainly weren't disappointed! The fishing was slower as we couldn't make it out until the beginning of September, but nevertheless, Orest still got us on the fish. The overall experience was great, and I'm not just talking about the fishing. Fresh coffee on board when we arrived, excellent snacks throughout the day, and even a spot for Grandma to nap had she felt the need. It's the little things like that, that made the trip great. Very large and comfortable boat as well. We would highly recommend using Orest and Alberni Charters for your next fishing adventure! - the O'Sullivan family from Alberta.

2 day trip with the guys on the Oracle vessel with Alberni Charters, Orest was a great host and guide. We caught out limit in Salmon and had a blast doing it. we had Double and Triple header catches! docked in San Mateo bay for the night and caught some fresh crabs for dinner. recommend this trip to anyone!

Fantastic day fishing. Slept on board so we could get an early start. We spent the night in a beautiful secluded cove. Watched the meteor shower so nice to see. Fished for Salmon caught two really big ones and one small one. then we jogged for a while and caught a Shark, red snapper and rock fish. what a great day. Orest is a a super host very accomodating, could not have been better. Highly recommend this charter company.

I don't typically write reviews but had to after this great trip. Thank you Orest for a great experience and making this boys weekend one we wont forget. From the amazing fishing spots, great company and the delicious food I cannot wait to book our next trip with Alberni Charters! We will definitely be back and look forward to catching some big salmon!
