★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Took a drive to Port Alberni just for a change of scenery. Stopped here at Harbour Quay and did a walk about. Plenty of nice little stores here. Public bathrooms found here as well.
Enjoy your visit in Port Alberni, I did.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Brought our j&l burgers down here.. had only the seagulls and a light breeze to keep us company on this late weekend afternoon. They've got (the only?) working phone booth around. Yah, it works. Plus tons of bathrooms, and the best donut shop I've ever been in on the island (Squamish has better imho). There's some fun stairs to climb for a better view and.if you're lucky you'll catch site of the Lady Rose in action.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really nice open area. The park is a bit lame and probably won't entertain your kids all that much. It's usually really windy and cold, so definitely bring a jacket. There's also a lighthouse down a bit which has some really interesting facts about the place. They're also renovating the clock tower which is one of the coolest places there.
Checkout the plaza for a craft fair on Sundays. The restaurant that's attached is owned by really cool people - also the boardwalk is a fun thing to ride a bike on.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Harbour Quay is a really nice place to hangout at. Theres a lot of good restaurants by the Harbour Quay. I love the view there. Theres a park and ice cream, good place to bring the young ones. Good to get out of the house.?
