Polar Refrigeration Service Ltd. is a 100% locally owned business. The company offices and shop are located in Saskatoon , Saskatchewan . "Polar" was established in 1952 and has been a leader in the local refrigeration industry since its inception.
Three friends founded Polar Refrigeration Service Ltd., locally referred to as "Polar" in 1952. In 1993, Richard and Laura Scrivener purchased the company from Ralph & Shirley Dent. Ralph was the first refrigeration apprentice that Polar ever employed, the year was 1954, and in 1958 he bought into the company.
Eventually, Ralph ended up the sole owner. He sold the company in the early 70's; however, he & Shirley bought the company back in the late 70's when it became apparent that the new owners were struggling.
In 2018 Polar was acquired by the miEnergy Group. With a foundation of shared values, Polar can offer renewable energy and electrical contracting services through its sister companies. Many changes have occurred in the last few years that have impacted greatly on our customers, our suppliers and us. In these changing times it has been both challenging and at the same time rewarding to work with so many other businesses on this journey that we are so glad to be a part of.

I called polar ref services
They fixed unit and charged me 800dollars. And fixed they changed capacitor. Which suppose to be different power instead of changing to the same power they changed to law power one.
And again it broke down. So i called them back. And asked them to do thin jn warranty cause its same problem again.
They said it might be under warranty or not. And told me to change the whole compressor so now they want to charge more then 1700 to 2200. And said the unit iss too hott
So i told them it might be the problem with the capacitor they changed may be its defective.
So they listened to me finally and changed that capacitor in warranty and said if they have to come back again for same fault that wont be under warranty and we have to change the whole compressor.
After few month it blowed up again. So i called the manufacture to check on it why this happens. They told me to contact other company. And i did contacted them.
They came and changed the capacitor and found out the POWER FOR THE CAPACITOR POLAR REFRIGRATION CHANGED WAS TOO LOW.
Because of that the compressor was not able to run nicely and taking too much load.
So be aware of this people. They just want to make customer fool.
Technician will roam around to truck and sire and will try to increase labour.
And i tried to complain but they dont listen.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ we had Polar install a furnace through Costco they were very easy to deal with .Betty looked after all the rebates that were available to us and she was very friendly and informative. the guys that came to do the install although challenged with a tight spot did a very good job and were very professional thanks polar for a job well done

Clint installed the furnace very quickly and he has so much expertise. I definitely recommend Polar to anyone needing a new furnace.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had our first issues with our geothermal furnace and wish we would have started with these guys! Not bad in that it had been installed for 13+ years and this is the first issue. Dealt with the manufacturer and then local plumbing and heating company and finally found Polar Refridgeration. The local guys were more than willing to help and learn and we greatly appreciated their help but it was much less stress once we got Polar involved. In talking with the service tech on the phone it was clear they knew their stuff and confirmed the issue(s) with me right away - no guessing. They provided a quote prior to comming out so there were no surprises with cost and they stuck to their quote! The service guy arrived on time and was very experienced and quickly got to work and got it done! My only regret was not calling them first!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ These people are great to deal with, they try and analyze your problem over the phone and if that doesn't work, a technician is out ASAP if its an emergency. The technician was great in explaining everything he was doing as he went so you feel comfortable that there will be no issues in the near future. I highly recommend these people for geothermal repairs and service.
