About Pita Pit
When Pita Pit began back in 1995, Braveheart was Best Picture, Seinfeld was all the rage, the Worldwide Web was just taking off and the DVD was new—and a major innovation.
So was the idea that drove Nelson Lang and John Sotiriadis to open their first Pita Pit in Kingston, Ontario.
Today’s trend toward healthier eating was still a long way off, but Nelson and John were ahead of the curve. They were convinced the time was right to offer a fresh, healthy alternative to traditional high-fat, high-carb, high-calorie fast foods. Their Lebanese-style pita sandwiches packed with fresh veggies, grilled meats and zesty sauces were an instant hit with the college and university crowd, especially since the store stayed open late—well into the wee hours of the morning, making it perfect for students taking a break from studying or coming home after a night of partying.
Within two years, franchise stores had begun opening right across Canada. Two years later, they were opening in the USA where the concept took off immediately with consumers of all ages.
Today, there are more than 650 Pita Pit stores in North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
Clearly, Pita Pit’s “fresh thinking, healthy eating” motto is an idea whose time has come.

Young man (possibly new to restaurant) struggled with wrapping my pita, but stayed cool, grabbed another one and made a successful transfer. Than thank me for my patience. Acknowledging the inconvenience and appreciating my response. Well played young man.
Tip: When you have a busted pita and have to transfer to a second one, don't re-add the sauces. The original sauces are clinging to the veggies and extra just makes it a soupy mess. But I appreciate your thought process, aiming to ensure I wasn't short changed on the sauce.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stopped in this Wednesday evening, and while they were clearly busy with plenty of skip orders on top of steady customers, the service was still great and reasonably quick once it was my turn.
The girl seemed to be training another employee as well, and was still incredibly polite & professional while managing in-store customer orders and directing the new-hire.
Fantastic customer service, and the food was great! (:

Pitas are awesome too! It's a healthy alternative and way better than subway (in my opinion) because they have more sauces and the meat is grilled instead of microwaved. :) you see them actually grilling it for you.
Just went back (may 11 2022)- service was still awesome!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I left the store feeling like I needed to leave a really good review. I have a management background, and literally everything that the 2 young women working today was perfect!. They were very attentive with customers, and made sure everyone was greeted upon entry. They noticed even little things, the one lady gave me a larger bag to hold my drink and chips, and even added extra sauce last minute to the grill for me.
It was like watching the best, most well made training video. Give these 2 some recognition! They deserve it!
