Pinnacle Aviation - Camrose

First i want to explain my disappointment with Pinnacle Aviation but i do admit it was my fault and i will take responsibility for it. I'm from Ontario and i purchased a Cessna 180 from a gentleman in Sherwood Park Alberta. The aircraft was maintained by Pinnacle and the annual was just done in June so it was recommended to have them perform a pre-purchase inspection. I purchased the plane on wheels but it also came with Edo 2870's. I wanted Pinnacle to remove and inspect the spreader bars for corrosion and build two crates in order to ship the floats to Ontario. I want to mention Dale, the Ame was awesome to deal with and i did not have any issues with him. The following work was performed and i did not ask for a quote (my fault) Pre-purchase inspection...10hrs @ $100/hr...$1,000 Disassemble floats to inspect spreader bars..12hrs @ $100/hr...$1,200 Construct two crates to ship floats...22hrs @ $100/hr....$2,200 Oil Filter from pre-purchase...$45 Shop supplies...$20 Materials to construct two 19'3'3 crates...$750 Total cost $5,190 plus taxes After receiving this invoice, the owner emailed and said he forgot to charge me a litre of oil and he would resend a revised invoice. After complaining about the amount of money i was spending, he decided to wave the $15 litre of oil. I was still upset over the charges to disassemble the floats and construct two crates, Pinnacle decided to reduce the invoice by $300. I felt since i was an out of town customer from Ontario, i was grossly overcharged for their services. Aviation is a small circle and word of mouth travels very quickly. I don't mind paying a reasonable price for services performed but i detest being gouged. If Pinnacle Aviation wants to stay in business for the long haul, they require a lesson on customer retention.
