★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pine Coulee Reservoir is located about an hours drive south of Calgary. There are various places with picnic tables located around the lake with scenic views. There are two campgrounds located in the southern side of the lake.
This lake is created by a dam on Willow Creek. The lake is subject to rising and falling as water comes in and drains out.
The lake is being managed as a trout lake however there are some walleye and pike as well as burbot.
Boating is allowed with a boat launch located towards the SW corner of the lake beside one campground. There is ample parking there.
You can drive over the dam which is cool.
This area is subject to high winds.
There is a paved road to the boat launch and close to the campgrounds.
