The majority of the store is just fine, but the fish area is a disaster! There is a massive breakout of Cyanobacteria (blue green Algae) and Blackbeard algae that is infecting every visible tank. Fish will die in this environment! I would be happy to volunteer to help clean these tanks and save the fish! It's such a shame because the staff here are pretty great.

Friendly Staff I was welcomed multiple times. There is a wide variety of pet food and toys. Store is kept clean.

Derek was rude! I went to a staff to inquire about some guinea pigs who was nice but referred me to Derek saying he has more knowledge about guinea pigs. Derek sounded rather condescending despite having limited knowledge about guinea pigs. This review is for their North Vancouver location. Their customer service is the worst.

I don’t think I will buy any live fish from Petsmart anymore. I bought a clown pleco and put it into my tank. My green neon tetras of one year suddenly got Ick and have died. A staff member told me that they are in a rush when receiving live fish shipments. That means the fish are not carefully inspected upon delivery, nor do they quarantine for 2 weeks to ensure there is no signs of sickness. Petsmart is a great store with competitive prices, just be extremely careful when buying their live fishβ€”it is a risk.

I went to petsmart Main Street North Vancouver today with my kids to buy one single Betta fish from them. A guy approached me (apparently one of the supervisors) and I asked him a simple question about where they keep Betta fish and he started questioning me about if I have a big tank at home ready for the fish and I said yes, but still he is trying to sell the expensive one that was on the shelf and I refused to buy it. Finally we went to buy the little fish but the cashier refused to sell it to us and said my manager doesn't want to sell this to you. Unbelievable shocking experience today that I have never experienced this kind of behaviour before. I expect the store manager Kyle to approach this guy and train him how to be polite and helpful with customers and tell him he has no right to treat a family like that.

I have never had an issue with Petsmart customer service before, in fact it’s always been wonderful, but today I had a horrible experience talking to Kyle (a manager) over the phone regarding my dog’s missed grooming appointment. This was my first time scheduling an appointment at the Main Street North Vancouver location. I usually schedule in the Burnaby locations and I normally get an email reminder a few days before the appointment even if I call in and I had made this call over 2 weeks ago. I never once got an email and was told by Kyle that calling me calling in to book an appointment is my confirmation. Kyle - I understand your groomers are commission based but the way I was spoken to was completely unprofessional especially coming from a manager. I had to tell you that I felt like you were attacking me just from the tone of your voice. I apologized to you, I am human after all and I made an error but for you to continue going on and on about the issue was unwarranted and completely unnecessary. Maybe you had a bad day but please do not take it out on your clients. I have never been to this location - this review is solely based on this one interaction. I’m sure the groomers here are lovely but I will never know now because I don’t feel comfortable ever taking my dog here after this experience.

Bad grooming haircut providers. We reported our dogs bad haircut through management and they acted like it was fine. We emailed corporate stating we had a bad experience with the grooming department and we still have not recieved a response back. The dog groomer we got did not do a professional cut at all. DO NOT GO TO NORTH VANCOUVER LOCATION.
