For my 41 years of being, I have been to the police station 4 times and all 4 times are here. My parcels kept getting stolen, my plate was stolen, my car was broken in, I was harassed by a man... I'd lived in countries with high crime rates, I don't know why I'm experiencing more crimes in Canada of all places. The officers here are polite. When I reported these crimes, they would give me a form to fill out. No follow up. It feels like they think my problems aren't real crimes. They never say anything to ease my distress. I was especially upset when I reported that a man had threatened to hit me. The officer told me to just stop going to that gym, and didn't try to arrest this man. I emailed the Sargent and he told me to talk to the staff at the front desk. It's an infinite loop of "talk to someone else". I have experienced another crime afterwards. I spoke to an officer I ran into at the mall, he just told me to go into the station if I like, it's up to me. Again, it seems to me that he thinks it's not important. (Like no one dies yet.) So I didn't bother to report it, it's just paperwork.

Went there to report an online harrasment which had been going on for 5 months by a person who knew me as well as my workplace but i didn't have any clue about him. So they advised me to delete my social media and stop working. They said they can't do anything but if something happens to me then they have more information on that so its a good thing. Thanks to them, that guy will keep harrasing more girls bcz nthing can be done by the police.

In light of current events, I wanted to share some words to support my local police department. First of all, my family and I have had far more encounters with police than I care to remember. And yes, the police have failed me and my family many times. But what I've come to learn is that what we often deem as "police failure" is not because the police are bad at their jobs, but their hands are tied because of policies and laws that forbid them to do more. I've been openly critical of police failures on my social media in the past but if you really want to see lasting change, you need to write letters to your mayors and city council members, and also policy and law makers at the federal and provincial level. You need to demand better training. In addition to that, you need to show up on voting day, and vote out policy- and law-makers that write or enable bad policies and bad laws. I've had family members robbed. I've been robbed. We've been through mental health forms. My mom is elderly and was taken advantage of financially. There's so much that has happened, and police weren't able to do more because of bad politicians writing bad laws. Or simply not having the manpower (I remember speaking to the fraud department, and being told they were still investigating cases from two years ago and they're swamped). This might not be a popular opinion but I think the police deserve more funding. They deserve MORE training. And they deserve more powers to do the job of cleaning up our city. God knows most of us don't have it in us to leave our own families everyday, put our lives on the line, for people who may not appreciate THE GOOD that they do. Not all police are bad. And it's important that we support them and help them get better. By all means, call them out when they're wrong. But don't paint them all with the same brush.

The worst! I called them to report a stolen vehicle from BC located by GPS in their area and dispatcher tells me I have to file a report with MY local police. Glad to see public service alive and well.

Toxic and rude. Don't try to help a bit..? They really need to find a better job rather wasting spots that can be replaced with better hardworking officers. They wear their dirty shoes when entering your homes, wonder if they would like that happening to their own den..

The front desk staff was very nice but didn't pass on a message that I had come in for an interview but unfortunately the officer I was supposed to see had left for the day. I went in the next day to report a stolen truck and was lead to believe that I was speaking with Badge number I asked to speak to, only 20 min into the report that he admitted that he was not that officer. I was pretty upset about all the lies and deception. He didn't even give me enough time to get home from the station before showing up at my house to harass my sick husband.

I went there to file an accident report. I was standing at the front for almost 30-40 minutes , nobody even bothered to ask why I was there. Almost after 40 mins another police officer was coming from outside and I asked him where could I file my complaint , he told me there is separate Department for collision report which was not available at this police station . They would just waste your time and make an excuse to you
