Great Service! I called to get a quote for additional service as we have been a customer for over a year and we got the quote super quick. Installation was shortly after and very friendly service. Great prices too!

Don't bother with this security company. Their customer service is absolutely terrible. Also, like David says, beware the fine print. I moved into a temporary residence that had break in issues. I talked with someone at peace of mind about setting up using an existing security system within the residence on a temporary basis because I didn't know how long I would be staying there. They charged me 99$ activation fee for using this outdated system using my land line and put me on an open contract. As with most people a few years passed, and I found myself having no use for a land line any longer, so I disconnected it, forgetting that my security system used it. It took them 5 days to observe that my phone line had been disconnected and contacted me, when their contract stated it is tested daily. I also asked twice that police be called 1st, which never happened. The last break in, it took 15 minutes for them to call my work phone after tripping sensors inside my house. I asked to upgrade to a cellular system. They initially told me it would cost 399$ to upgrade my system. I said forget that, I am a three year existing customer and other local security companies install the same system for free with only a 99$ connection fee. They then offered to install it for 199$. I said not good enough I am going to switch alarm companies. They then emailed me a copy of my contract highlighting the fine print of 60 days notice. I just said consider this my notice. Kamloops Alarm then installed my system for free and knocked a month off my initial bill considering what I went through with this company. You are not a valued customer to these guys, so dont expect any understanding from them. I fond it utterly amusing that one of the responses from the owner to a bad review on google was "our current customers take priority". Lmao, I call total BS on that response. Another thing, this company also deceives new customers by padding their own reviews. Look at the Google reviews, Kristine O'Connor is the business manager and Swathi reddy is her assistant. Like I said. Dont bother. They are shady.

Well, it looks like they have deleted my negative review. Pretty petty, so I will add it again. I had my system installed by them after having to been broken in about three years ago. The system would throw a code saying the rear door to my garage was open, it was not. They sent out a technician and he tried a new battery on the door switch, then replaced the switch itself. It worked for some time then would throw a code again on occasion but it would clear when I would deactivate the alarm, then one day the code came and it would not go away no matter what I did ( tried deactivate the alarm, remove the battery on the door switch and replace it). I could not activate the alarm, so I called them on a Wednesday and was told that the "boss" would have to call me to deal with it. Thursday came and went, then Friday and no call. I called Friday late and was told he would call first thing Monday morning. Nope, called again in the afternoon, and was told he would call later that day. You guessed it, no call. I called everyday that week and was reassured he would call each day, as a matter of fact, the fellow I talked to everyday said he would put me down as an appointment so that the boss would have to call me. Well guess what, no call. Now you have to understand that all this time my system would not arm. I postponed a trip I was to take because of this, and I was reluctant to leave my house after having been broken into before. Now I was really upset with this cavalier attitude, so I called Kamloops alarm and they came out, determined that that rear door was probably to far away from the control panel and installed a signal booster in the garage and that code does not reappear anymore. All for free. I signed on to their monitoring system and cut off the system I had with Peace of mind. Of course the "boss" just happened to call me late the evening before Kamloops alarm was to come out and told me to check the door that it was showing it was open. I told him it was not and I was very upset with his lack of after sales service and to cancel my contract, he said I could not do that. I then Emailed them that I wanted to stop using their monitoring system and got no reply. I complained to the Better Business Bureau and they gave me a complaint number. Three months later they Emailed me and said there was not much more they could do as Peace of Mind did not respond, so they closed the complain file. Then Peace of Mind contacted me and said I owed $839.57 for a little more than a year left on the contract, but if I paid $500 they would let it go. I said that under no circumstance was I rewarding the "boss" for the total lack of after sales service I received and I would gladly got to court and argue my case to a judge,

Be careful signing up with Peace Of Mind Systems. I moved to Kamloops a couple years ago and took over the service contracts the previous owners of my house had, since I didn't know any companies in Kamloops, which is how I came to be with Peace Of Mind. However, I also look after a couple other houses here for my family, and their houses are set up with Prestige Security. So, a couple months ago I decided to streamline my life and just deal with one security provider, and it made sense for me to work with Prestige Security. However, when I tried to cancel my account with Peace Of Mind, they said I had to pay them $500 if I wanted to cancel the last year of my 3-year contract, even though keeping the contract for one more year would have only cost $450. If you're like me, you might be thinking that paying $500 to cancel a contract when keeping it only costs $450 makes no sense. So, I called their office to discuss what I felt was an unreasonable penalty fee, as the previous owners had already paid for the hardware Peace Of Mind provided years ago (the previous owners had a contract with them for seven years), and when I signed up Peace Of Mind Systems didn't ever send a technician to my house to ensure everything was still set up properly. This turned out to be a big issue, as I learned when Prestige Security came to inspect my house that the fire alarm monitoring wasn't working, but I digress. Anyway, in an effort to be reasonable (as I did sign their contract but failed to appreciate the unreasonable fine print at the time), I told Peace Of Mind that I would be willing to pay as much as $150 to cancel the remainder of the contract, which I thought was fair since there was only one year left (i.e. if it's $500 to cancel the contract in Year 1 of a 3-year contract, why would it be $500 in Year 3 as well? Paying around 1/3 of the penalty with only 1/3 of the time left on the contract both made more sense and seemed more fair). When I wrote to suggest this, they replied that they would accept $225 as the best they could do. So, I wrote back again to discuss things, as charging me $225 to end a contract when they didn't have anything invested seemed like a cash grab to me (i.e. the hardware installed years earlier had already been fully paid for, and no service technician ever visited my home to set things up - someone just changed the account name from the previous owners of my house to my name and took my credit card information over the phone two years ago). But at this point they didn't reply and instead started sending me invoices with interest accruing each month. So, not wishing to let my credit rating get destroyed over a couple hundred bucks, today I paid their $225 bill, just so that I could stop being their customer. Let that sink in... I had to pay them $225 just to stop being their customer, when they have nothing invested (i.e. they never provided me with any hardware that would get paid off over a 3-year contract, like when you sign a cell phone contract and get a phone with the deal), or my credit rating could be destroyed. Because that's their policy. And so that's why I'm writing this review, as I imagine there are other people out there who wouldn't want to find themselves in the situation I did with Peace Of Mind. I don't know about you, but I've found when businesses focus on providing great service for their customers, they don't penalize them for ending a contract early as a 'policy'. Thus, for those of you who have not yet signed up with Peace Of Mind and are wondering what you should do, I invite you to check out Prestige Security. They're outstanding. But please look for yourself. You'll find they have excellent reviews, fantastic pricing, and if you wish to cancel service for some reason (like, you might have to move, for example), they let you end your contract for free, as any good business focused on providing value to their customers would. So, for what it's worth, I hope this account of my unfortunate experience will help someone avoid the same mistake I made. Otherwise, best of luck.
