While the “play” that children engage in may appear simple, there is great meaning in it. This is their work. Mastery occurs when a child stumbles on a problem he cannot solve. Each avenue he explores to solve it—encourages brain pathways and innovative means of getting it to work. This is why guiding the child to discover on his own is of such importance to his/her development.
INDEPENDENCE → Self Confidence
When a child asks for help—help them. When a child says “I can do it,” let them. A famous quote by Dr. Montessori was based on the profound benefits she witnessed firsthand over many years of teaching: “Never help a child with a task at which he feels he can succeed.” Not only does independence aid in learning, it is vital to self esteem, self reliance, and self confidence.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have been sending our kids to pathway for 4 years now. Our third child is now attending her first year of pre school, and is really enjoying the teachers and activities. The teachers this year have been great! We have a fourth child that we plan to send there for his first 2 years of pre school as well.
Our first two children have been doing really well in school and are both more than meeting the expectations of the school.
I would recommend the current teachers and set up.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pathway Montessori was previously an excellent preschool. When my daughter attended 4 years ago the level of instruction was exemplary and she very much enjoyed going to school each day. In the past few years there had been a high turn over in the teachers. The management of the school is extremely poor and level of instruction is subpar. Since sending my son to this school in the past year I have noted a lack of caring, patience and understanding for the requirements of age appropriate guidance. I would not recommend that anyone send their child to this school in its current state. While the Montessori principles are a wonderful basis for learning this environment does not facilitate positive instruction.

Being an eye witness of the children's love of the classroom and eagerness to use the materials was always refreshing and reassuring. Nancy's love for the children was evident throughout her preschool, from a clean, organized facility to a friendly and fulfilling environment. The children soared under her quiet, confident leadership, and so did the staff, including myself. I am still in contact with Nancy from time to time, and she still runs a top-notch care facility for children, she is still very mindful of her she hires. Nancy is keenly engaged in everything that happens at her Montessori daycare in Calgary. I highly recommend Pathway Montessori Children's Center for parents looking for one of the best-kept secrets to early childhood learning.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a fantastic preschool! Conveniently located, fair prices, and a real and dedicated effort to observe and abide by all COVID related protocols. My son has thrived in this environment and we couldn’t be happier with how this year has gone for him. The teachers are knowledgeable, caring, and compassionate, and the Directors are fantastic as well, always quick to respond to any questions or concerns and seem willing and able to adapt to any challenge presented. I would not hesitate to recommend Pathway Montessori to anyone and we will look forward to another year together for the 2021/2022 school year.
