Would not explain test results for my own home because they were submitted through a third party. Need to develop system to identify home owners who have test results submitted through inspectors.

I feel I must state my recent experience.  I've been using Paracel for many years.  About twenty years between my inspection company and my engineering company combined.  I recently dropped off a sample, and was surprised that my bill was five times (yes, increased by five orders of magnitude) compared to what it has always been.  Apparently new billing practices were introduced last year, but established clients were given no warning or notice.  Furthermore, I was not informed of the quintupling of their fees last year when dropping off my latest sample, nor was there any notice or indication on any of the forms I filled out.  Lastly, there was no staff member available to assist me or answer my questions when dropping off my sample.  I understand this due to Covid regulations, however a five times increase in fees should have warranted at least a notice on the wall in the drop-off room.  I politely requested a one-time waiver of the new surcharges, and was denied.  I always treat my clients fairly, and never fail to provide discounts and rebates to my clients, particularly due to the pandemic and for low income families.  I had already billed my client the normal fee that I've always paid Paracel (with no mark-up or profit of course), and unfortunately I have to obtain another sample and setup an account with another lab.  It is not the new fees that is the issue, I'll gladly pay it from now on, it's a matter of fairness, principles, and honest business practices.  I will cover the loss between what I billed my client and what the new lab charges, because I am an honest local businessman.  Luckily the new lab only charges slightly more than what I used to always pay, about $20 more in total, (compared to almost $200 more that Paracel increased). It is unfortunate that a company like Paracel uses deceptive business practices, and especially discouraging that they have no interest in preserving their clients or at least being fair with their clients.  Heed my advice, there are other local labs available which charge only a fraction of what Paracel charges (they charge only slightly more than what I've always paid before with Paracel).
