Glad I am not there this weekend with the heat wave as there is no air conditioning. That said big room with only one comfy chair. So we brought a chair from the deck in. Did not eat there as the menu was not to our taste. Value for money maybe if you like slightly rustic and rooms needing updating. Would we go back probably not. They do have nice beds though.

Hotel rooms were okay, the washroom was dirty. There were feces on the inside of the toilet, how could one miss that if you cleaned the washroom? After that, it felt very uncleanliness. Called the front office, didn’t pick up. Went down to the front desk, they told me the cleaning employees were off. I was very disappointed and disgusted with the un clean washroom. I didn’t know what to do. I just had to stay for the rest of my stay here. I wouldn’t recommend. The room was dirty, I could see finger prints everywhere. There were dead bugs around my sink and the fridge reeked of some weird smell. I just felt very disgusted here, the hotels were obviously not updated and the pool was closed. I have went to other hotels around Vancouver Island and all their pools were open. I would recommend other people go to a different hotel or come here if you enjoy dirty hotels. Customer service is top notch, great praise to their employees, very kind and very nice. But cleanliness is something they need to work on.

Spent 3 days in Campbell River with the family at this hotel. Lovely staff and OK rooms, but incredibly understaffed. Waited over an hour to get a table at our own restaurant, the bar was never staffed and none of the waterfront facilities were open. None of this was communicated prior to our arrival or even at the front desk. We don’t feel we should have paid full price for this reduced experience. Lastly, after requesting to help us recover a picture we left in the room, management botched our request and we left the country prior to receive it. Very disappointing experience.

Large lodge, with a nice view over the ocean. Rooms are spacious. Fridge was nog working, no microwave. Breakfast is limited (muffins, coffee, cereals), no bread/bagels. Small fitness available. Pool closed for the season. April spa closed for the season. Good value for the money we paid (one of the cheaper options available in Campbell).

1. When arriving to our room, the room smelled. It smelled like smoke and very "closed up" and musty. 2. There was a dog barking for over 30 minutes, when I called, I was told that was the neighbors dog and there was nothing they could do about it. I thought with the resort being off season and half empty, why did they put is there? When the person very obviously knew about the dog issue. 3. The place is really run down, no dinner there now, except at the bar. A Continental breakfast that left much to be desired. At 10 am on our way out we stopped to have "breakfast". When we got there, there were no eggs, no juice, no cheese, 1 sad little croissant. I asked the front desk girl to please have someone bring more food out, she proceeded to tell me there probably was no food left because we were late to breakfast. I asked her when was breakfast over and she said at 11. I then asked her, so you are telling me you do not have enough breakfast to support your guests until the time you say breakfast is over at 11? She just sat there, she was obviously just saying anything to me too get me to stop " bothering" her, (she was very deep in the city chat, when I got there). This was really a great place a few years ago. I guess things change, like me not going back there again. So disappointing!

This hotel and its facilities reminded me of a starlet who was once celebrated and grand, but has now fallen on hard times. It needs MAJOR updating for the prices they are charging per night. The rooms were 30C at night, and the doors and windows do not have screens so we couldn’t even keep them open or we’d be eaten alive by mosquitoes (which actually happened to my kids as they were in the loft and didn’t shut the window). The fans barely worked. My son commented that the bathroom reminded him of an RV bathroom, not in an entitled kid way, just a comment of observation. It was very tiny and dated. The beds were not comfortable, we could feel the springs. The grounds were lovely, very beautiful and well maintained. The restaurants were worse than the rooms. We went over to April point and only 3 members of our party could eat something off the menu; a lot of processed and high allergen foods. The furnishings were so sad and dated. The staff however were fantastic. So friendly and kind and you could tell they were overworked/understaffed, but still trying their best to keep everyone happy. We were told by one of the staff that the hotel was bought by a company 3 years ago, and it’s just not the same anymore. Well, we certainly felt that. Painter’s is not what it once was.

What a great place to come relax. Sit out on the balcony and enjoy the fresh ocean air. It's beena while where I've stayed somewhere that had every surface clean! Super impressive. I actually looked in the common missed spots and everything was clean! Beds were comfy, room had lots of space. Will definitely be back and have already recommended the place to some of our friends.

Just went for supper at the Tyee Pub! Very limited menu! Over charged! Charged for order of fries that actually came with the meal! Paid $3.00 for each little container of watery gravy! Ordered a small salad that was mainly lettuce and extremely small. They need to update their website menu so people don't go expecting the menu on their website!!
