About Out of the Blue
Building from her roots in vintage fashion and a desire to balance career with her family, owner and founder Wendy Waters has worked to create an expressive, accessible fashion boutique for Winnipeggers who want something a little different.
Her heart beats eclectic: design, music, and story. She loves the hunt for the perfect vintage dress and imagining the life of its previous owner. This is what inspired her to create a vintage shop nearly 30 years ago.
These days, you’ll find that the Out of the Blue team has kept that passion alive by curating fun, modern, and vintage inspired looks alongside key fashion staples that will delight your closet and allow your personal style to shine.
Ever on the hunt, the team sources brands from right here in Winnipeg as well as across Canada and abroad always doing their best to source responsible suppliers and provide an open and safe environment for everyone in our community.
Beyond fashion, we try to create a culture where discussion and expression are respected and our employees receive a living wage, an affordable health plan and a profit sharing program.
Clothes are only part of our story and we hope that through kindness, human interaction, and our support for local charities we can make a positive contribution to our community .

The store has everything from amazing clothing brands (often Canadian and/or fair trade) to beautiful local jewelry to unique houseware and personal items. The displays are stunning and the store layout impeccable. Wendy, the owner, is the right mix of kind and honest when helping you try on clothing - she immediately understands what looks good on your body and is all about helping you feel beautiful. It's not about the sale for her, it's about a happy and confident customer. The website is super easy to use for on-line orders and the Instagram posts are updated daily and help you feel like you are in the store. As a 40 something Professional, I can buy basically all of my clothes from this store for both work and play. My future includes seasonal private shopping appointments with occasional on-line orders when items are flying off the shelf! Thank you Wendy for making shopping so fun and easy!

โ โ โ โ โ Love this shop! I recently tried to go shopping at the mall for a holiday outfit and was so frustrated with the crowds, not being able to find any styles or sizes I liked, or helpful staff. Then I went to OOTB and found pretty much 3 perfect outfits and had a great time chatting with the employees! A super great experience, iโm never going mall shopping again ?

โ โ โ โ โ Bought a pair of fair trade mitts from Out of the Blue. The sales lady said they were super warm, but they werenโt. The wind goes right through them. But, they offered to pick them up for me and give me a store credit. That is great customer service, so Iโm happy now.

โ โ โ โ โ I managed to find not one but TWO pairs of cute and super comfy pants here, and their sizing system actually makes sense!! There aren't too many options that you have to go through a bunch of filler to find something you like, but enough choice so you can fit items to your style. Staff are all lovely and knowledgable, great atmosphere. Also if you're looking for cute wall decor this is the place!!

I shop here with my teen daughter, for my work clothes, for special occasions, gifts for friends, and even with my mom. The nicest part of this shop is they get to know their customers personal tastes, take care in suggesting pieces you will truly love, and make you remember why you love fashion!
