P	Paul Welsh on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I highly recommend this place. Best of many vendors I've checked out. I'm a solo canoe tripper, now retired. The "Trillium" canoes, their own hull design, are fantastic. First, a 16' kevlar Trillium in 1993, was great for solo and small kids. Light, stable, great capacity. Next was 17' Trillium for family trips with two growing boys. Then a15' in brawny yellow, under 40 lbs.. my retirement gift to my shoulders and spirit.. for 2 week solos spring and fall. Wonderful joyful little soul mate. I paddle 4-5 days weekly April to November. The owner and her staff are really knowledgeable, direct, reliable and honest. Her prices are great.
B	Bob on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were desperate. Other places were sold out. The price isn't favourable compared to some other rental outfitters, so do your homework. As others have pointed out, store set-up is not slick and staff can be quirky, but they are well-intentioned and seem to know their business. Some people might even prefer their approach, which is anything but pretentious. Equipment was old and had seen many, many repairs, but we didn't sink so I have to say that it worked. Wouldn't be my first choice for the next outing, but good to know it's there as a Plan B.
E	Eleni Latsis on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The owner was quite abrasive and unfriendly. I was told over the phone that we would be charged $180 for 48 hours, however when we got there we were charged $305. She was quite rude when I politely questioned it. The canoes were placed on our cars pretty carelessly i.e. throwing metal straps over the car, nearly dropped the canoe on our car. That being said, I really did appreciate the help of some of the other staff members they were kind and helpful and the canoes were good quality. Like others have said, if you can get passed the unfriendly owner then go ahead. However, I'll be looking elsewhere for my next rental.

Easy process and I personally think the prices are unbeatable if you compare with some of the other location around Ottawa. We rented a cannoe for 6 days with no problem and they installed in on our car and showed us every step so we could do it on our way back from the trip! Will definetly be coming back next summer.

They ordered me an oldtown kayak directly from the manufacturer and made the entire process very easy. :) If you want to support local definitely shop here! While they don't have an impressive storefront like the big box stores they make up for it in service and knowledge.

The owners provided invaluable advice and helped us decide the best kayaks for our needs, and even helped us load them on the car. OVC&K will be our "go to" shop for all our kayaking needs. They are there to make sales yes, but most importantly to ensure happy and satisfied customers. Highly recommended.
