About Omega Funeral Home The
We have had a long and reputable tradition in the city of Portage la Prairie since our establishment in the early 1920’s by Ralph N. Rae. The home became the McMaster Funeral Home in 1950, when George R. McMaster purchased the funeral home from Rae’s. In 1973 the Portage Consumers Co-operative purchased the Funeral Home from George R. McMaster. May of 2016 brought change to Omega Funeral Home when Matthew Nichol purchased the Funeral Home from the Portage Consumers Co-operative. The Nichol family are also owners of Wheatland Funeral Service.

The funeral which took place on June 5th, 2020. The staff was incredibly friendly, professional and each and every detail was delivered with an abundance of care and thoughtfulness. Colleen was our director and her attentiveness, her patience and breadth of compassion was astounding. She was there for our family every step of the way including a drive around Island Park, in which my Dad so loved and then the drive to his final resting spot next to our beloved Mother!
