Oakview Terrace Reception Centre

PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THIS VENUE FOR YOUR WEDDING. We had such an awful experience. We booked this venue before the pandemic and were pretty much stuck with it afterwards. Management changed. May, the lady in charge, is extremely unorganized and constantly kept on delivering surprises. Despite the contract we had, they hiked the pricing for meals per person and constantly kept on coming up with extra fees in every interaction (for example, upgraded cutlery fee, upgraded linen fee, pop and coffee which were part of the package initially were now extra). We understand that COVID forced venues like this to make difficult business decisions, but the communication was SEVERELY lacking. Moreover, regarding the restrictions related to COVID, asking guests to sign 3 waiver forms is ridiculous (one before the day of the wedding, another before they entered the chapel and finally, before entering the dining hall). They are understaffed and so they asked us to do their work for them with collecting forms while guests were lining outside the door in cold weather. Other surprises that we figured out last minute: - Electrical outlets in the outdoor area do not work and basically the DJ on the day of was unable to play any music in the outdoor area. -Unlike what they had advertised when we booked the venue, the chapel is not heated. - TV screens are not all connected to their audiovisual system. So we were unable to display slideshows properly. - 2 Weeks before the event, we learned that they don't have WiFi - Don't even get us started on the tasting. The entire menu list that we were supposed to choose from, when we signed the contract, went down the drain...well, "because COVID." The chef, Raj, when asked what our vegan guests' meal options will be told us, believe it or not, that he would "figure out something to cook based on what they have in the fridge at that time". When we insisted that we know what they would serve, he was very defensive, but finally, gave us more details two weeks later, and only after we kept calling to follow-up. On the wedding day though, the food was decent overall, but the planning leading up to it was an absolute nightmare. You may be deceived by the scenic landscapes of this venue and feel like you can pull off a beautiful wedding here. But unfortunately, given the unprofessional attitude of Oakview Terrace management, you are more likely to pull off your dream wedding in your backyard. STAY AWAY!

The area is pretty secluded, which is great for private functions. The building itself has a classic Victorian feel, and it has a beautiful balcony with a lovely view, like your own private garden. Lots of great places for photos ops, even in the winter.

It was a beautiful venue for a wedding or any special event. The food and service were great and it's very easy to get to. I would encourage anyone getting married to seriously consider this place.

We held a Speed Dating Events here, and it was very successful. The Manager Michael is very nice and helped us on all kinds of needs. Definitely we will continue to hold events here again and again! Must reserve early or it will be too busy! Excellent View and 5 Stars Service!

Absolutely stunning venue. The garden and grounds are breath taking in the spring and summer. Would definitely recommend to visit the venue!

I went to a real estate lecture at this place. Absolutely stunning venue! The food was pretty good. Very educational lecture.

Venue is beautiful and the food is good… however the management is awful which made the experience not great. They made all their guests wait outside in the cold for 2 hours with no arrangements of heats. No outside food including a wedding cake was allowed to be distributed !! They also forced all the guests to keep their masks on while sitting at our own table.. even after checking our vaccine status twice. If you love getting cold and having to deal with lots of rules this venue is for you ??
