Oak Bay Beach Hotel

Beautiful hotel, beautiful rooms, comfortable bedding and phenomenal accommodations. The mineral pools are amazing, an absolute must during any stay. The staff is incredibly friendly and will go out of their way to help, even giving rides to downtown Victoria. Expensive, but totally worth the splurge.

Very nice hotel although I felt it was not very classy to charge for overnight parking although I guess it's standard operating procedure. The heated pool and hot tubs are amazing, staff are all on point and helpful. The rooms are very comfortable, quiet and the heated floor in the bathroom is a very nice touch. Definitely a great weekend away

Stayed there for 3 nights. Room was clean and clean, I requested room service once only during my stay. I had a partial ocean view on level 2 and wow, where else can you lie in bed and still see the ocean?! The view is amazing. I ate at The Snug and the pasta was disappointing. Pasta was made in house and overcooked. Seafood chowder was good, loaded with an abundance of seafood. About half the staff wore masks at the reception and none at restaurants. I personally would have preferred to see a bit more masking for peace of mind, although masking doesn't seem to be a common practice in Victoria in general! The heated pool was nice and toasty! Great ocean view as well. None of the visitors respected the whispering etiquette though (and spoke at regular volumes) and it wasn't reinforced by the workers there (unlike Scandiave Spa at Whistler.) The only "complaint" is that it can get quite cold once you get out of the pool, and have to walk back to the hotel. It would be nice if there were heated lamps along the way?

My husband and I celebrated Christmas here in 2021 and had the loveliest time! It was our first time in Canada and we visited so many beautiful places. Our room had a gorgeous view of the bay and we enjoyed breakfast and dinner meals at the hotel restaurants as well as their heated mineral pools. We highly suggest staying here! The hotel was beautiful and everybody made us feel very welcomed.

The hotel features old world charm in all its detail from crown moulding to the interior woodwork. Everything is immaculate and feeds your comfort. The beds, linens and towels top quality . The mineral hot pool and hot tubs are heavenly and super clean. The service staff are wonderful and you can tell they are treated well by their employer. You can feast your eyes on the incredible ocean view from wherever you are. There’s a wonderful lounge with old charm furniture and grand piano. The only disappointment is that there were no drinks served there snd no one played the piano. Both restaurants are fabulous especially the Faro pizza. Our stay was awesome!!!

While the hotel is beautiful and the pool area is breath taking there are some things about this hotel that are less desirable. The staff in the restaurants are top notch and went above and beyond. The food was good and pricing was on point. However I went with a group of 20 women and unfortunately they could not accommodate our group for any meals together. We attempted on several occasions to give them notice and they declined to accommodate us to all sit together which was rather disappointing as I myself travelled from Ontario to spend time with these group of ladies. It would of been nice to have a meal together but the hotel staff didn’t think it would be possible to accommodate our request. Rather disappointing. Something else that was extremely bothersome was a staff member who’s name on his name tag was “Ofer” was quite rude to our whole group. Calling us the “face tuned group” making fun of us women about our looks etc. he went as far as to accuse our group on several occasions that we had not paid our tabs. He himself would escort us to the payment area “towel hut” to check our room balance and to his surprise every time we were all always paid up. It was disgusting as a first time guest to be treated this way for how much money you pay to be at this “swanky” resort. We constantly felt as though we were being judge by the pool area staff almost looking at us like we don’t belong at times. Take this review as you will this is my personal experience and unfortunately I would not recommend this hotel to anyone simply due to how the pool staff acted and treated us.

We hit up this hotel when we were trying to find a nice place to stay in Victoria. We were immediately attracted by the mineral pools with ocean view. The pools are perfect. There's one big warm swimming pool, and two smaller hot tubs. The view is just fantastic, and you can enjoy the views in the morning, afternoon or night, since they are open from 8am to 10pm. We had a superior room with one queen bed. The room is very spacious and well equipped, with two sinks in the washroom. The room is also very clean, and they have room cleaning service everyday. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel. Although it might be on a more pricey side, we feel the experience is definitely worth it. We'll come back to this hotel again when we visit Victoria next time.

Beautiful hotel. Friendly staff. Easy check-in. Everything was very smooth. Loved how clean and classy everything was. You can feel very safe here also which is a bonus. Only complaint I have is a personal one. The beds are a bit hard and the pillows are on the flatter side. Will be back though!
