We walked in, never being there before, and walked out thinking it was held next door or something. Unfortunately for us it wasn’t. They just had a basket and pre coloured eggs with spices and stuff set out to show what they used. Not kid friendly in my opinion, which is fine, I guess my expectations were different than what was intended. Aside from that the store was great. Clean& excellent selection. I would like to go back for more items once I’m prepared with our bags and jars.

Bring your own jars or containers, tare them, then fill with grains, spices, tea, candy, dried fruits, tofu, cheese, oil, vinegar, nut butter, shampoo, conditioner, deodrant, laundry detergent, house cleaners, etc. Or put a deposit on a jar there and borrow it. They also have fresh milk, cheese, eggs, tofu, fruits, and vegetables, as well as durable goods (from stainless steel lunch containers and insulated tea / coffee travel mugs to reusable handkerchiefs and menstrual products).

I find most eco-friendly stores aren’t complete enough to do your entire grocery, and then you feel like you need to hit multiple stores to complete it. Or they’re all organic and too expensive. And it makes caring for the environment inconvenient… once again. Not.with.this.store. From tofu, to delicious tasting frozen vegan burger patties and unfrozen samosas, to my favourite native branded deodorant (that actually works), to bread, snacks and frozen vegetables, everything is packageless and affordable. They even have chips, which is amazing (chip bags are very rarely recycled, even if you throw them in your recycling bin). I could go on with the product selection. The customer service was amazing and there was enough parking to park around the store. The store was super clean, and kept plastic-less even with the pandemic... for some reasons a lot of other stores thinks plastic protects from Covid (?). The two only tiny little things I would improve would be a sealable container for frozen stuff, because I wasn’t sure if the patties we were buying were freezer burnt or not, and I could see this discouraging other buyers as well. Secondly, I would have liked to see price tags on products already packaged in glass jars. Anyways, I am from outside Ottawa and I would dream of living close to such a store. If you are from here and care for the environment, don’t take this gem of a store for granted!
S	Samuel Bureau on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been shopping here regularly for a while. The staff are always very kind and they keep the place pretty tidy. If you're into sustainability this store is just for you, just make sure to bring some reusable containers. Good selection for a such a small shop

The food and products are top quality and besides being great for the environment it's also wonderful to purchase quantities based on my needs rather than being forced to buy a large package. For a bulk store the level of cleanliness and organization is much higher than any other bulk store I've ever visited.

I brought all my containers with me and left with a mountain of food. I can't wait to come back to try all of your products. NU grocery is making zero-waste easy. A true trailblazer in the circular economy. The future needs to look more like this.
