Great food and service from the restaurant. My friends and I had dinner here and Devin gave us great recommendations.

We went to Nima Nima for the first time this weekend. They had a Filipino pop up and it was truly incredible. Every dish was carefully curated and the flavours had us all craving more and more. Would go back in a heart beat!

All the dishes were surprisingly good with their own unique tastes. Fried chicken was very tender and juicy with perfect balance of salty and sweetness. Tofu pockets have two options when I visited, smoked salmon and mushrooms. Both were amazingly delicious. Also had their crispy rice salad with many ingredients which including herbs/greens/fruits/sauces etc, very unique, interested and refreshing. For Watermelon Salad, if you like hint of lavender and goat cheese. You have found your soulmate. West Coast Board has an unusual selection of fresh seafood with varieties of cooking method. One of them will impress you if not all of them. Avocado Toast is also a great choice for breakfast or brunch. Toast is probably one of the most crispy one I have ever had. All of their house made gelatos are spot on too. You can taste all the ingredients not just the sweet. On top of everything, all the staffs are so nice and friendly. Highly recommend to give it a try.

A gem on Galiano. Run, don’t walk! We went here on the recommendation of our kayaking guide. We would not have necessarily sought it out just based on the menu online. It’s a little bit out of the way, as you have to drive about 20min near the top of Bodega Ridge. But the food was so fresh and so so good! We went back the next day to try more items. The menu is eclectic with something for everyone - gelato and cookies for the kiddos, fried chicken, seafood, salads, and a few surprises here and there. Just looking the their menu doesn’t do it justice. Their chef is Filipino (mad props to this guy!), and has a way of executing fresh local ingredients that makes them shine. We’re still thinking about that watermelon salad. The seafood was very fresh. Everything on the seafood platter was made in house from the lox (best I’ve ever had, not too salty, excellent texture) down to the picked vegetables. The miso cod bowl was delicious. We sat in the shade under the trees with a beer on their licensed picnic area. There is a licensed patio, too, with great views. It was a perfect lunch after a morning of hiking and kayaking. Forget about the pub, come here instead. You won’t regret it!

On a visit to Galiano Island, we decided to stop by for lunch at Nimma Nimma. It's a neat restaurant where you order the food at their stand and there's a separate patio and another grassy outdoor area you can choose from to sit and dine at. We went during the summer. The menu changes throughout the year so check their website for the latest menu. We shared a few dishes including the lingcod bowl, inari pockets, and seacuterie (seafood charcuterie) plate. The seacuterie plate had a spot prawns, smoked fish, ceviche, pickled vegetables and nori. I enjoyed most of this dish although I felt the salmon was a bit over spiced with dill. The inari pockets were filled with mushrooms and veggies, very fresh and tasty appetizer. My favourite was the lingcod bowl, which comes on a bed of rice and veggies including mushrooms. Great asian flavours and tender lingcod!

Wow - Galiano has another fantastic culinary experience. For those not familiar with Galiano most of the hospitality industry is down south in and around Sturdies Bay where BC ferries arrives. Nimma Nimma is situated to the north near Bodega Ridge where firs and great cedars grow. The experience at Nimma Nimma is warm and inviting. Staff are friendly and helpful and the kitchen serves up treats from raw oysters to braised egg plant done in a traditional Philippine way. Take the ferry drive north and experience a new taste and treasure.

Simply superlative. Cheers for a wonderful experience and looking forward to seeing you again. The fries and fried chicken were absolute standouts but the whole experience was great across the board.
