Do NOT choose Nexera. They pose as a high-tech, innovative law firm that's convenient and efficient to use and, while they certainly are innovative, they are completely inefficient because they repeat simple tasks numerous times. The most stressful, infuriating parts of my condo-closing were as a result of Nexera's poor communication with both me and amongst themselves. Even now, 3 months after my closing, I still don't have critical builder documents. And the worst part is, Nexera doesn't even know which documents are the one's I'm missing, and I'm trying to explain it to THEM. I'm a first-time home buyer -- they should be telling ME which things I need and which I don't. I don't think I'm asking too much, considering I'm paying almost DOUBLE for their services as I would have if I went with the smaller, more traditional and experienced law firm that my wife went with for her closing. When you only need a lawyer once every few years, don't go with a firm that claims to be super convenient and innovative... go to a firm that, while they may not be fancy, they DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. Meet them properly. All the technology and streamlined processes in the world can't replace professional, competent, EXPERIENCED law firms that can do builder-closings with their eyes closed. Not only have I payed double, monetarily, but I have also spent double the time on my closing. 4 WEEKS AFTER REVIEW WAS WRITTEN: I finally contact the management company of my condo, and they tell me they haven't heard from my lawyer and I order what I need. What jokers NLG are... they just expect me to know everything that I need, and when I need it, as a first time homebuyer. The most pitiful piece is that when I had some questions about GST/HST rebates that I was getting, I couldn't get in contact with them, and I had to call another lawyer. NLG finishes with you, then moves on and you can never contact them again! This would be fine, however, if their Law Clerks were competent. I do have to say, however, that their signing guarantor was very sweet, and it was a nice smooth process with her. LASTLY, I know that NLG reads the reviews, then casts doubt on whether you were actually a client, but I was a client, but don't use my Gmail for personal matters. You need, however, to write Google Reviews with a Gmail account, so that's why Sanjay didn't know whether I was actually a client. 10 MONTHS AFTER REVIEW WAS WRITTEN: I sold my condo and purchased a new home with my wife. We went to an old-school law firm in Oakville and wow, what a difference that experience makes. We had to go, in-person and wear masks, but I wouldn't trade that for all the technological "efficiencies" or so-called safety precautions offered by modern law-firms through Zoom. We had a couple unexpected issues that arose with our closing, and they were dealt with quickly and expertly by the experienced lawyer and his exceptional law clerk. IF IT WAS at Nexera, the experience would've been a nightmare: it would have passed through at least 5 law professionals' hands and no one would take responsibility or be accountable for any of the mistakes. The smooth closing I experienced at a more traditional law firm makes me certain I will NEVER go to Nexera, nor a law firm like them ever again.

We have worked with Vanguard Law Group on mutual clients. Our clients have nothing but great things to say about the firm. They are able to close real estate transactions while you remain in the comfort of your own home. The Vanguard team is professional when dealing with clients and responsive to any questions that investors may have with respect to HST rebates and foreign investment properties. We highly recommend all investors (local or foreign) to use the services of Vanguard LLP for their closings.

My wife and I would definitely recommend Vanguard Law Group to others. Vic Bansal helped us with the closing of our condo unit in downtown. Their entire team was very professional and kept us apprised of all deadlines. We received regular emails/phone calls to advise how our file was moving. Overall, we are very pleased with the services provided by the team at Vanguard.

This was my first time referring a client to Vanguard Law. He was very happy with the extent and level of service provided. The team at Vanguard was excellent with their communication, response to his questions and follow up. Vanguard made things very simple and convenient by accommodating my client’s β€œsignature day” at his own home while providing extended hours 7 days a week. Best of all you get all this at very competitive prices. I would not hesitate to recommend Vanguard Law for all your Real Estate and related needs.

As a Mortgage Broker, I have referred a number of my clients to Vanguard and they have all been very pleased with the services. I continue to use them for a number of reasons: excellent teamwork within the office, great customer service, reasonably priced - full transparency of fees, and best of all, my clients love the fact that no matter where they are located, Vanguard meets them day or night, evening or weekend, in the comfort of their own home. Thank you to the team at Vanguard for always providing excellent service to my clients! I would recommend anyone to use Vanguard Law Group for any of their real estate legal needs.

I have enthusiastically advised, important clients, friends and family about Vanguard Law Group. The trust I have built with this team over the last five years, closing several transactions, and servicing my legal needs- is from making me comfortable. I love being aware of everything that is going on when I need to know and I never feel like I am bothering the team at all. (like I have felt many times with other firms we have used.) That being said if I were to sum up what makes me continue business with them it would be, a lot of real estate transactions are handled professionally in a 'quantity' importance over quality, I do not think that this is not a successful and busy firm and I expect it to grow RAPIDLY. But it doesn't seem like they are ever too busy for you. Sometimes you never need to speak to a lawyer throughout the transaction. I had 3 separate legal questions (not for clerk) in 1 week for the same deal. My calls were returned within an hour, (By Vic each time) and I was not easy to reach. This is an example of the type of service that everyone wants that Vanguard provides.

I agree with the previous persons review after having a similar experience. We were referred to this law firm from our mortgage broker. Started out well. Received a welcome call and instructions for what information was needed from us. We exchanged the information and I thought that this was actually a pretty good setup. It went downhill from there. This is my third mortgage transaction so I have a bit of an idea of how these things would go. I didn’t hear anything for over a week from our law clerk after the initial welcome phone call. I reached out via email about 7 business days before closing. No answer. I called and left a voicemail. No response. Finally 1 week before closing at around 2pm on a Friday , after leaving another voicemail in the morning I called the main secretary who transferred me directly to our law clerk (what?!). I expressed my frustration with how difficult it was to open a line of communication with her. She assured us all was well. As I had thought, there was outstanding tasks on our file. Which left us 3 business days to have completed plus we still had to sign our documents. I have previously in other transactions signed everything about a week in advance to the closing date so this confused and unsettled me. I ended up having to escalate our request to have the task completed in time for our closing date. After it was done and sent off I spoke with our clerk one more time. She expressed all was well and I left as is. Closing day (Friday)- no word from anyone. Multiple unanswered emails from myself and my mortgage broker. Finally at around 3pm I called the main secretary who in her words MADE the clerk pick up the phone (???). I was advised that the lender was holding up the transaction and even though my mortgage broker had copied me on her unanswered emails to the law clerk - she insisted she had been in contact with them all day. Turns out she had submitted our paperwork the day of closing and of course the lender couldn’t review in time. So we didn’t close until the following week four days later (the following Tuesday) - us along with about 3-4 other people had the same experience. At least she shared in our disappointment that day. On our original closing day I received a very apologetic phone call from the owner stating that we would be assigned a new law clerk, would received a discount on our fees, and would get a phone call the the following Monday with an update. I definitely felt that things were turning around. NOPE. Monday - no follow up call. Tuesday - received an email from the law clerk that messed up our file that we had now closed and should receive our funds. So none of what the owner and I had discussed other than the discount was followed through on. I have done these transactions before - and i have seen our funds transferred the same day or by the very least the next day. I am now sitting here with nothing in my bank account and no funds transferred. So I’m not too sure how this will turn out. β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”- In summary - cool tools - bad communication. No timelines or expectations are set. Their response rate to phone calls and emails leaves a lot to be desired. Direction is not followed through on. This review is based solely on my opinion and experience. There seems to be many good reviews on here so maybe they’re just going through a rough spot. Either way - I won’t be using them again for this type of transaction.

We are extremely satisfied with the services of Vanguard Law group. All of our questions and concerns were addressed promptly, and we always felt confident that our mortgage was being handled competently. We only needed to have 1 meeting that was in the comfort of our own home. The meeting lasted about 10 minutes. Most of the communication was through email, which was very convenient for us. Nicole Roe always responded promptly and courteously. We would be proud to recommend the Vanguard Law Group to our friends and family.
