Although my transactions haven’t been completed yet, everything seems to be on track. You definitely lose the personal touch when using an online lawyer/law clerk and therefore can’t always get immediate answers to your questions. That said, they did eventually get back to me when I did have questions. I will decide whether I’d use them again when my transactions have been completed and if there are no problems. Everyone that I’ve emailed back and forth with has been pleasant and helpful. The first time you use the online signing, it is a little stressful because no one is there to guide you. I am using Realestatelawyers.ca for both my sale and purchase transactions. The law clerk Shelley and administrator Alicia have been fantastic. They are both super responsive and a pleasure to work with. The signing of the docs is done over a zoom call which made it very easy and convenient. I highly recommend this law firm.

Rated 4 stars but really would have liked to have rated them 3.5 stars. Law clerk and student that were assigned to our file were not very responsive to our questions. Thankfully our lawyer was very good about replying to our emails. This is our first time as home buyers and we felt that there should have been more communication about the process, with less guessing on our part.

This was the first home I have ever sold, and working with Real Estate Lawyers LLP was a great experience [PLEASE NOTE: I have edited this review to more accurately reflect my longer-term experience with this company.THE EDITING WILL APPEAR IN CAPS]. Every person I dealt with was very professional, polite and respectful FOR THE FIRST FEW DAYS; AS SOON AS MY REVIEW WAS WRITTEN, I SUDDENLY WAS NO LONGER ABLE TO CONTACT ANYONE IN THE COMPANY. What was especially important to me during this hectic time of change, was that they were prompt, organized, and were always reachable! I AM SORRY TO HAVE TO CONTRADICT MYSELF, BUT THE EXACT OPPOSITE WAS THE CASE, ONCE THEY RECEIVED MY REVIEW AND/OR ONCE THE MONEY WAS IN THEIR HANDS. While I had to wait in long queues for other services (changing utilities, etc.) I always got someone on the line at REL, and if I didn't, by chance, my call was always promptly returned. I found the friendliness of the staff so helpful during this otherwise complicated process and I have no regrets [THE OPPOSITE IS TRUE] about choosing this company to facilitate the selling of my home! I SO WISH THAT WAS TRUE. WHAT REALLY HAPPENED IS THAT I RECEIVED AN EMAIL CONGRATULATING ME ON THE CLOSING OF THE TRANSACTION. IN THAT EMAIL I WAS CLEARLY INFORMED THAT "ALL BANKING FOR THIS TRANSACTION TAKES PLACE THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY..." I BEGAN EXPECTING THE MONIES FOR THE SALE OF MY HOME FROM THAT DAY ONWARDS. I COULD REACH NO ONE. I BEGAN CALLING, EMAILING AND TEXTING. I LEFT MESSAGES; THE DAYS PASSED. I WAS LOSING MONEY EACH DAY, AS I HAD MADE A CAREFUL PLAN TO INVEST IT AS SOON AS I RECEIVED IT. IT WAS A FULL 13 DAYS BEFORE THE MONIES WERE DEPOSITED IN MY ACCOUNT!! FURTHER, THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO EXPLANATION FOR THE DELAY OR ANY ATTEMPT, TO MY KNOWLEDGE, TO FIND OUT WHERE THE MONIES WERE BEING HELD - CERTAINLY NOT IN MY BANK ACCOUNT! I AM PROFOUNDLY DISAPPOINTED IN THE COMPANY FOR THE WAY THIS WAS [NOT] HANDLED. EVERYONE JUST WENT SILENT. VERY BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!! SHOULD ANYTHING CHANGE IN THIS REGARD, I WILL AGAIN UPDATE MY REVIEW, BUT I AM NOT OPTIMISTIC!
