NEC is a Liberal(federal) propaganda machine wearing the face of native people. NEC is exploiting First Nations issues in favor of a federally funded political message. The message of the name Native Education College is the face of their contradictory nature because of their motivation to prioritize federal political leftist ideologies, that creates polarities in FN communities, over the Indigenous message of pro community, unification, and solidarity for First Nations. When it comes down to it, you cannot have both. Either you are dividing or unifying, and NEC has chosen to prioritize polarizing politics over the rebuilding of relationships between children, adults, woman, and men for First Nations. I understand why a federally run public school champions federal leftist politics, but students pay twice as much at NEC (which is a private, non-federal school) to have the same indoctrination of far leftist ideologies of federal schools in Canada?!? Go to UBC or UVIC as they are public, charge half the price, AND your credits are transferable. Credits from NEC's humanities, FCC programs, are not transferable to public, credible, cheaper schools like UBC and UVIC. I came to this school to be 'educated' (laugh) from an indigenous perspective, but we Natives are further assimilated into federal politics. Just another overpriced business like institution wearing Native face. Maybe eight years ago this school was something different. You don't get years of lost time back. Hope this makes sense to you all.

This school was a waste of my time. I completed multiple mathematic books, and was told to do them over again because I need to work with the class. Than I was told that I am no longer able to apply because the staff are very unprofessional they are not teachers at all. I don't recommend this school at all. If you want to be successful apply for VCC or UBC.

A great place to learn, I took ABE for my grade 12 at 36 and met so many cool people from all over Canada as i was from Sask. This was 22 years ago though.

Friendly staff, welcoming arms every time you walk through the door. Always going to meet people from all walks of life. Smaller classrooms make it easier to study and get that extra help if neede.

NEC has been a major stepping stone to achieving my goal. its a safe atmosphere with amazing support from the staff. I highly recommend that it is a great place to learn and grow. I found ,myself engaged in my classes i am near the end of IABE. My next step is Family and Community Counselling . I am so excited for my future.
