NAPA AUTOPRO - Wrenchmasters - Red Deer

I took my car in for an inspection, oil change, and to put on my winter tires at Napa Wrenchmasters on Thursday November 11, 2021. I was told that my rear brake calipers, rotors, and pads had to be changed. I was quoted $1200 and then told they could give me a slight discount and do it for $1100. Needless to say I called other places. Got a quote for $862 and another at $691. One told me that calipers usually don't need to be changed but instead serviced if they are sticking. Another garage confirmed the calipers just needed to be serviced. In total the other garage charged me $440 instead of the $1100 Wrenchmasters quoted me. I am not recommending this place and will never return. Edit based on response: The written quote I have never conveyed this to be a worst case scenario. I would be happy to attach it here. Nor did the person I spoke with at reception. The quote was also for premium parts. When I asked about pricing for medium parts I was told that my 2012 matrix base model could only do low or premium and they wouldn't recommend low grade parts (instead of telling me that's all they had in stock). When I called another place they gave me a quote of $862 also for premium parts and "worst case scenario". I agree there were major communication issues but also that this place is extremely overpriced, and it seemed deliberately so. I didn't appreciate how any of this was handled. It speaks to a lack of professionalism, integrity, and honesty. Please note that if the calipers were indeed seized it would be extremely noticeable when driving the vehicle both for me as the primary user and for Wrenchmasters when they drove it (one garage described it as if the breaks were always engaged). Either way, I think it's in any customer's best interest to shop around, get a second opinion. Hope this review is helpful and saves a lot of trouble and money for someone other than myself.

Excellent service from work on car to ride home and back. Very knowledgeable and willing to make sure you understand everything too. This is going to be my shop I go to for all my vehicle needs

Spent $2100 on repairs and my jeep is doing the same thing as when I brought it in. Bringing it back soon, hopefully it gets rectified.

I have taken all my vehicles that arent under manufacturer's warranty to Wrenchmaster for servicing for the last 17 years or more. I have trust tha they will do the work that is necessary and they are always fair and reasonable with their billing. In my opinion they are the best auto tech shop in Red Deer.

Well where to start? I started using Jeff over 20 years ago. I continue to go back because of his honesty and straight facts approach. Essentially he will diagnose what needs to be done, what can wait and zero pressure. I never get the feeling that I am being "sold" anything that isn't required. Adrian is a rock star as well- very friendly and approachable and shares the same philosophy as Jeff.

All the staff were friendly, down to earth, and made it really easy for me. They're not condescending or rude to women and that's so hard to find in a mechanic shop. My car was done exactly when they said it would be, price was right on, and the work was done well. Thanks!

The fellas here are knowledgeable and friendly. All in all just a bunch of good lads doing good work for a fairly reasonable price. Great communication and they do quick work. Will definitely be a repeat customer.

Everything went excellent as always. They replaced sparks plugs and coils and fixed my heater fan, having to work around not being able to get a part. The final bill was bang on with the estimate that was given. They even worked with me when they had to wait for parts, I was able to get the vehicle back and use it for a day between repairs. Really appreciate the work and help the guys at Wrench Masters give me anytime have need them. Thanks!!!
