Drove from Burnaby all the way to the Museum of Surrey today and we're glad we did. Exhibits were very informative and fun for us parents and grandparents (my in-laws) to be able to share our past experiences to our kids. The exhibits on the second floor about what the Canadian Japanese went thru after the second world war was both eye-opening and emotionally touching. I have nothing but admiration for the Japanese people. I had the pleasure to speak with another guest who happened to be a descendant or know of Japanese families who went thru the horrors of losing everything they had and being placed in Japanese internment camps. Icing on the cake was when we were told that the elevator was currently out of order. I briefly spoke with the person who was at the reception area about how we drove all the way from Burnaby but we may have to come back to see the second floor as my mother-in-law is on a mobility scooter. A few minutes later while we were checking out the exhibits on the first floor, the person at the reception told us that she had talked to curator and have arranged for my MIL to get up to the second floor. I just want to extend a big thank you again to you and the curator. The whole experience really made our day! You gals rock!

Good place to check out for activities during spring / school breaks. the museum has a beautiful collection of artifacts local to Surrey. Right next to the library , so two places can be covered in one trip 4 stars since phone was not answered even after multiple tries !! When we reached there they asked if we had a phone reservation ?

It was a ton of fun. My daughter loved the play activity space. Lots of parking and fun things for the whole family. I look forward to going back. A great way to spend a rainy afternoon. The staff were all friendly and helpful.

Love the Indian Army exhibit. Its history many are not not aware of and should be a permanent exhibit to HONOR them . THANK YOU to all who served and sacrificed for our freedoms

Great free kids play area, including a slide. Really appreciated a great free indoor activity for kids and how well they followed Covid protocols and kept it so clean. But overall as a museum it was quite small with not a lot of historical facts or variety of info. Worth going if you have small kids but not much else…..might be a different story when they can offer more without Covid restrictions

We love city museums, and this one was really well done. Lovely building, admission by donation, nice permanent displays. We went mainly for the Broken Promises exhibit about Japanese internment during WWII - very well done, it's a very moving exhibit.
