This is my first choice in Victoria for drop in nail trim. The staff have always been welcoming, knowledgeable and great with my pup!

Bailey has never looked cuter ! This is the best haircut my dog has had, and at the most affordable price. Thank you Mucky Mutt!

Very rude owner.... I called for a month trying to book in and left 4 voicemails, no one ever called me back. I had to go in to book my appointment, because still after a month no one would answer when I called, it would just go straight to their voicemail. The haircuts are overpriced and the salon was FREEZING, my poor puppy was shivering in a cage for hours before they got to her because they have a wait time of 3-4 hours after dropping them off (this is with an appointment). I asked for the same cut as last time, for her body to be clippered short and a trim for her face and not to touch the ears at all. I came back to find they had buzzed every inch of her....they had buzzed her face, leaving her lashes the longest part of her face.....all was buzzed except the top half of her ears, ruining the entire shape of her ears..... I had assumed they knew not to buzz a yorkies face, I didnt think I would have to specifically state do not buzz her face.... when I went back to express how unhappy I was with the cut the receptionist was incredibly apologetic and kept saying "oh my gosh what happened to you, I'm so sorry, this is not a yorkie haircut, I dont know how this happened" then got the owner who turns out is the one who cut bellas hair... she was incredibly rude and unapologetic and kept speaking over me and wouldn't let me even explain why I was unhappy, she just kept saying "you're being argumentative, I wont listen to you, I'm not listening to you" after working in customer service and having managed a salon myself for 7 years, I was absolutely shocked at how she was handling the situation. I let her say what she had to say which was blaming me for bellas haircut saying that's what I wanted...not correct, but I let her finish and calmly asked "may I please explain why I'm so upset" she finally let me speak without her talking over me, but what she did next was almost worse. She stood there arms crossed with a giant smirk on her face as I'm trying to explain how disappointed I am with the service, from the booking to the freezing salon, to the long wait time that no one told me about when I dropped off bella that almost made me late for work and made me have to last minute arrange for someone to pick her up... all of this she wore the biggest exagerated smirk for, she was loving how unhappy I was... just wow... at least I got my money back, but the owner had to make even that leave a bad taste in my mouth, because her ego wouldn't allow her to just give me a refund. No, instead she proceeded to tell me I would get a refund but that bella and I were never welcome back again, as if I would have wanted to??....it was again, her ego needing the last word... so here I am, writing a review so that hopefully someone else can read this before they have to go through what I went through.. they're great until they arent, then the owner takes zero responsibility and treats you terribly. She was arrogant, unapologetic and unsympathetic, not great characteristics for a buisness owner. The island is small, and after speaking to other dog owners I bump into, I've found I'm not the only one with a horror story from mucky mutts, I would never recommend them. I've attached a photo of bella before her haircut and after. As well as a photo of her ears after her last grooming appointment (the photo with the collar) vs the photo of her ears this time where they buzzed the entire bottom half, butchering the beautiful shape completely...

We took our cat Furby to get groomed and I have never been more disappointed and quite frankly disgusted with a grooming place. When we got there he was in his cat carrier on the floor. We had gone there for a brush out before and were pleased, so we didn't think to take him out to look at him. His fur is incredibly and noticeably uneven, he still has quite a few mats (a lot on his tail and neck area), the back of his neck is groomed a teeny tiny bit but then the front is full on fluff, wasn’t even brushed since there’s still mats, his paws weren’t touched and neither was his tail. (pictures attached). Oh and claws weren't clipped. They commented on how relaxed he was, so it’s not like he was moving around a bunch. There’s no excuse for this. How they took our money without being completely embarrassed is beyond me. We will be taking our cat elsewhere, and telling everyone we know to never step foot in Mucky Mutts. If I could give them a score of -100 stars I would however I will have to settle with 1 star.

Staff are very gentle and kind with the dogs and are happy to clip the nails of my large Ridgebackx. Note that they are sometimes closed the day after a long weekend, so call ahead to check.

They didn't clean their clippers. My cat was cut by them and got an infection. Their disclaimer did say that owners were responsible for any illnesses that their animals may contract during grooming so I took responsibility for this. I treated the infection with the vet but because of the stress and his weakened immune system, my cat developed severe food allergies. This is an expensive, lifelong issue. I would avoid this place and choose a groomer that practices proper hygiene. On the other hand, they also didn't cut my cat's nails which was promised in the package. Not worth the cheap grooming price.

I recently moved into the neighbourhood and and needed a new groomer for my dog. I want to support my local community business so called Mucky Mutt. What a wonderful experience. My puppy looks so beautiful. Thank you, we will be back.

I can’t say enough about the great service I’ve received. I have a senior dog and am new to the area. I’d been going to another groomer but didn’t think it was a great fit for my dog. I found Mucky Mutt due to the positive online ratings and they have not disappointed. The customer service is amazing - right down to how professional and responsive they were during my first phone inquiry. The quality of the grooming is excellent. Most importantly, my dog has been calm and not even remotely stressed upon returning from his grooming - which was the experience I had with another provider I had been using. I sincerely can’t say enough about the great service at Mucky Mutt. It sounds cliché, but it is very obvious they really care about their animal clients ?
