★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place over booked their rooms and cancelled my reservation after I got my confirmation from 3rd party booking site.
I booked this place for 2 nights for my family via Expedia and got confirmation email promptly. That is until the next day, the hotel cancelled my reservation. The explanation given was "most likely due to payment issue", but I have reserved other hotels with the same credit card.
After I called in Expedia, and they looked into it. They found out hotel cancelled because it is "over booked". And it doesn't usually happen.
Now I am not saying technical problems won't happen, but this is exploitable for hotels to retain reservation with higher price and cancel the lower priced one. I am not saying this is what happened here, but I felt I need to share my experience so other people has to be more careful.
I missed the SINGLE cancellation email among many other Expidia emails and only found out about it 1 week before the date when I decided to call in to confirm reservation. I was able to book other hotels at higher price but if you are the person who stopped checking after getting the confirmation email, you would be in big trouble.
