★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have to be careful going into this shop .It has very practical, useful and beautiful good clothes and shoes. Usually what I need. Yet I might spend more than I feel I could afford. But I am happy with my purchases and have no regrets.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I found an amazing faux fur reversible puffer jacket that is so luxurious I could not pass it up. Currently feeling like I'm snuggling a cloud or a kitten. ?♥️? I love Salt Spring Island and of course Mouat's is a go-to.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ horrible customer service on the second floor. An older women with short dark hair over heard me asking my sister about a price on a sweater and this lady took her mask off to yell from the till that everything is “UP TO UP TO UP TO 70% OFF, NOT 70%. UP TO.” The rest of the time we were looking in the shop, she continued to follow us and watch me and my sister. As if we were going to steal something. Really upsetting, it’s Christmas time and typically find the islanders are friendly, especially to other islanders

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just dropped in, as is my usual practice when visiting the island, and my first thought was " what happened here?". Gone are the fabulous fashions this store was known for. I live on the mainland and if I met someone who had been to Saltspring we always talk about this store and its selection of unique pieces at great prices. What I saw today was inexpensively made, disposable garments that I can find anywhere. Frumpy is what I came to mind. Such a shame! This is a pass for me, I suggest the same for you. I know my friends will agree when
I tell them the disappointing news.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Came here on the recommendation of a family friend who is a regular customer. We were surprised to note they didn't appear to have any covid restrictions in place. Especially for a long weekend. We were the only two customers wearing masks, for others protection. The staff were also not wearing masks.
The staff followed us around as if we were highly suspicious and after we debated a few purchases we returned the clothing to their original racks. As we were leaving, the staff approached us to ask if we had put the clothing back. When we replied we had we were lectured that they HAD to steam the clothing after trying on.
That would have been pertinent and helpful before we began shopping. I highly doubt that's their regular practice though since they did not wear masks or follow any other CDC regulations. My guess is that they were judging us for wearing masks.
Will NOT return despite the selection of clothing I would probably have purchased other wise.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Echoing what a couple others have said - the selection is okay and prices are pretty high but comparable to other outdoorsy-ish clothing stores in the area, but the customer service is off-putting and rude, particularly on the second floor.
