I haven’t been here since covid and glad nothing has changed except for the price. You can get water or green tea. Tea is free so don’t be a afraid. ? Ordered Nikutoji and ebiten. Same broth but had different flavour as one had egg beaten in it. Noodles are nice and chewy, lots of beef, and big shrimp. Nothing much of other toppings than what you order. If I get tempura again, I will ask for it on the side. Little pricy for udon but I like it.

if you only order one thing, get the NikuWaka udon. It is a dashi broth udon with beef brisket and seaweed and I preferred it over the Mentaiko udon. I love how the noodles are hand made as I love udon! The interior is very clean and modern and the food came quickly.

I tried the NikuGoboten, which is udon in soup with beef brisket & burdock tempura. There's an option to order hot or cold broth. The noodles are so fresh and are made entirely from scratch. The soup was light but flavourful and the beef brisket was so tender. The portions are a bit small, next time I'll order a few appies as well. There was a lineup when I was leaving, it's a good idea to make a reso.

This is a small Japanese joint that specializes in hand-made udon noodles. The wait was 30 minutes on a Sunday afternoon, so I’d recommend putting your name down and walking around. The nikutofu broth was really good - it was sweet with a subtle dashi flavour. I’d say it was a lighter soup that paired well with the noodles and the tofu was a bit sweet like inari, but a tofu puff texture. It was more of your tradition udon. I ordered the AnkakeEbiYuzukosho, which was really different. Broth was thicker and spicy. It’s not what I was expecting, but it worked with the ingredients. I chose this because it had a good amount of greens and nothing deep fried. I felt the noodles were better than your standard udon, but if I was blindfolded, I don’t think I could tell a big difference. I think if I’d had the traditional udon broth with my toppings I’d enjoy it more, but I thought it was just okay. Overall, if you love udon, this is a good place to try. However, it’s not a place I would go out of my way to return to, nor do I think I’d wait 30 minutes for it. The price is around $20, which is steep for udon, but some of their udon dishes are pretty unique and I’d say those are worth it.

Service was good. Ordered the MazeMentai udon, negi tuna and ikura tempura. The negi tuna in ponzu was tasty. The udon was a nice mix of ingredients with creamy mentaiko sauce and was a hearty meal. The ikura was a miss though. It was a bland slab of squid coated in a thick layer of tempura. But overall a satisfying meal!

Wow is all I have to say!!! The Salmon Aburi is very good, a bit too much soy sauce but still yum. The udon as always is very good. Came here right at noon earlier and there was no line. Definitely one of my fav place, especially if u like udon. The udon is handmade in house, broth is very flavourful and the beef thats in there melts in your mouth. Definitely a niche restaurant as no one else has opened an udon place. Will definitely be back again.

Absolutely amazing udon! This is such a great restaurant, absolute must if you love soup plus noodles. They use fresh noodles and locally sourced ingredients. They have traditional udon, cold udon and specialty udon. The Niku Goboten is delicious the beef was soft and melts in your mouth, the dashi broth is perfect! The Ankake Ebi Yuzukosho was fantastic with a thick Dashi and Chicken broth, the cilantro adds a nice flavour to the spice. The Ika Tempura was light and crispy. We also had the Mochi An Kinako, the most special part was the 2 scoops of ice cream! One scoop was Hojicha and the other very special flavour was Sake, which was so delicous and it was handmade in the restaurant. This is the only strictly udon shop I know of in the lower mainland, so coming here was a must, and my only regret is that I have not been here sooner. Restaurant was quite busy during lunch hour on a week day, continuous flow of people during my stay. Definitely going to be a regular customer, worth every penny!

Came here when they first opened almost 2 years ago and left disappointed with their service. Decided to give the place another try. Service was a lot efficient this time. The udon was cooked perfectly, thick and chewy in a good way. The dashi broth was light and flavorful. Not fond of the beef brisket though, a bit bland and too much fat for me. Overall I enjoyed the meal and would come back again.
