I have known John and his team for many years. They are all very kind, caring and professional. I recommend my clients to them and they have all come back to me saying how happy they were with the service that they received.

Was recommended this place by the credit counseling society. Everyone was friendly. I have nothing to compare them too so I assume they did a good job. Service seemed expensive but is helping me get out of debt which is good.

Worst trustee ever. I sign up for chapter 7 for 9 months and paid $240 a months for 9 months. I have no income what so ever and on my last month they switched my bankruptcy into 21 months I called and called for months and months no call back no explanation for what so ever. I really don't know what to do I am thinking hiring a lawyer.

Was present for a meeting of creditors for a bankrupt individual on March 29, 2018. I found the representative from MNP to be quite unprofessional in a number of ways. First, John the trustee permitted the bankrupt party to speak and discuss his personal bankruptcy. I suspect the trustee should be the only person to talk to creditors. This will at least control the talking and limit the interactions with the bankrupt and creditors. Since this is a very emotional and stressful time, the situation needs to be handled in a professional manner. When a creditor began to talk loud and was clearly upset at the fact he would now loose thousands of dollars and the bankrupt party did not seem to care and John the trustee said there was no way he could see the creditors get anything, unless the creditors paid him fees in the tens of thousands to recoup their dollars from their former employer. As the creditor was unhappy and vocal, John the trustee said"meeting is over" the unhappy creditor cursed at John the bankrupt employer to the point there was almost a physical altercation. John the trustee said the the employee who just lost thousands " your a tough guy eh" and followed with "Tough little man" then he told everyone to get out. Now I understand John the trustee has a job to do and he is acting for the bankrupt employer. But, there is the need for professionalism and it is paramount creditors be treated with respect. I submit John needs to seek further training to deal with these difficult situations. If not for other creditors putting a stop to the altercation, there could have been someone hurt. MNP as a firm needs to take action and ensure their workplace is a safe place for clients, staff and visitors. I for one did not feel this was a safe environment to visit. I am going to communicate this to The Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario. I hope MNP takes these matters more serious in the future and puts a stop to workplace abuse.

Years ago, when no one else would look into debt consolidation, MNP helped. I have had no problems.

I’m 2018 I found myself in a very bad situation when I realized the exact amount of debt I was in. After speaking with the credit counselling society they recommended a proposal and recommended MNP. The trustee that initially helped me was Laurie Campbell and she was amazing. She was very sympathetic and caring, never once made me feel uncomfortable or insecure. Everything went downhill when she left. No one contacted me to let me know there would be a change in contact. My case was handed over to Alexis who is a terrible communicator. There were times she let my emails go unanswered for weeks on end, and the worst was during the pandemic when I needed to miss some payments. I contacted them about deferring some payments, and Danielle at the time informed me that if I missed 5 months worth of payments that my payments going forward would only increase by about $20 per month to make sure my proposal was paid off in time. Luckily for me I contacted Danielle and Alexis about a year after I deferred payments to check in and see what I owed to determine if I could pay things off in full or not. Danielle then told me that I actually had to pay $140 more per month if I wanted to pay the proposal off in time. That is a huge chunk of my budget I wasn’t expecting to pay based on Danielle’s previous emails about the increase only being $20. She refused to admit that she was wrong or apologize for the mistake and instead argued with me and got John involved who was equally not helpful. After much back and forth I decided to just pay the proposal in full so I didn’t have to deal with their incompetence or lack of compassion any further. If you deferred payments I strongly recommend checking in to make sure you will complete your proposal on time, since Danielle seems to struggle with using a calculator. John is abrasive and rude and not helpful what so ever. Would never ever use them or recommend them.
