From my first day setting foot onto a mat, I have felt supported and welcomed. His knowledge is incredible and his patience with all of his students is wonderful to see. On top of that he makes classes fun! What I find especially important is that he always looks out for the safety of the students who are training. If you have ever considered learning BJJ, this is the place to go!

Like many people, I've struggled with confidence and mental and physical wellness, and I knew that I needed to make a change, but I wanted more than just a hobby. I wanted a lifestyle and philosophy that I can embrace in all aspects, and having been a spectator fan of BJJ for years, I finally decided to make that change. I did a lot of research into finding the right gym for me, asking many questions to many people, and after spectating classes, speaking with Marcio and current students, there was no question in my mind that this academy was where I needed to be to start my journey. From the moment you walk into the gym, to the moment you leave, it's nothing short of an absolute pleasure, truly inspiring people. The community and quality of classes is fantastic, always pushing each other to improve physically and mentally. I'd recommend this gym to anyone who's thinking about starting their own journey of improvement.

If you're looking to start your Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey look no further. As someone with no prior grappling experience the instructors were professional, polite, patient, and extremely helpful. 10/10 would recommend. Membership plans are very fair and worth it given the quality of instruction. Safe environment for all ages and experience levels, clean hygenic environment. I wish I started earlier.

He is extremely knowledgeable about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and he really shows that he cares about his students' progress. Anytime you want to ask him for help to improve your game, he is more than happy to help, and will always stay after class to show you new techniques. Marcio exemplifies the comradery, respect and patience that is associated with martial arts like Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He, along with everyone else that trains at the his gyms, really make you feel welcome and like you are part of a team.

Instructors are extreamly helpful and take their time to ensure the entire class understands the proper techniques. Very friendly vibe with classmates of all ages. No matter what your looking for; BJJ for competition, self defence or just the health benefits Professor Marcio and his great team of coaches have you covered. To go into a little background of my story. I started my Brazilian jiu jitsu journey elsewhere. After showing up to class very nervous the coach said “find a partner and roll” well, as someone who is completely inexperienced I was terrified. They did their best to accommodate me but I knew I wouldn’t be able to learn in this environment. I went home a little discouraged but knew I still wanted to learn the art so I kept searching and im so glad I did. Professor Marcio’s school has two introduction to BJJ classes before you start with fundamentals . This teaches you the basics and takes away the stress and fear of showing up with no experience. After that you can start attending the amazing fundamental curriculum. Whether your advanced practitioner or just starting Marcio Nunes BJJ is by far the best place to learn in all of the Halton and surrounding regions.
