About Mind Matters Clinic

Our team is made up of a group of Psychologists, Social Workers, Speech and Language Pathologists, and Art Therapists who have received Postgraduate training in human behaviour. Some team members have expertise with children, others in adult care.

As a team, we have the benefit of accessing a variety of different Clinicians with a wide range of areas of expertise. Through your initial contact with the therapist who answers our phone, you will be directed to the Clinician who is best able to meet your individual needs.

The journey begins with a phone call to our offices, where you will speak to an Associate who has some type of training in the mental health field. Typically, the empathic voice at the other end of the phone line belongs to an individual with some University education in Psychology or a related mental health field. You will be asked to provide some information about the type of problem you would like help with, and you will have opportunity to ask and have answered any questions that you have about the types of services we offer, the length of time before you will be seen, and the fees that we charge. If you would like to pursue our services, Dr. Moser will be apprised of the information that you have provided, and she will match you with the Clinician that will most likely be the best fit for you and your needs. Our aim is to have you seen within a few weeks; this is usually possible for many of our services. However, if you have a specific Clinician in mind, the wait may be longer. In any event, you will be called within a day or two of your inquiry.

Made an appointment months in advance to see the child psychologist, Dr. Moser. Were only told the day before that our child wasn't even invited the appointment to speak to the doctor, only the parents. We paid over $180 for an hour, at least 15 minutes of which were spent watching YouTube videos while Dr. Moser left the room. So we spent $45 to watch free videos, she could have easily sent us home with the links to watch for free in the comfort of our own home. Her "assessment" was asking us standardized questions off a checklist and she gave us absolutely zero helpful information or advice at the end of the appointment. She only tried to sell very expensive group programming and sell their other services. This is what for-profit mental health looks like. Save your money and wait longer to access ethical, qualified care if you need it.

I was under the impression that I was going to receive a quality service, because of the excessive amount of money Mind Matters charges, as well as the amount time they ask for. However, what I received was far from that. I've never been more insulted with the lack of integrity shown by a β€˜professional’. The old documents I had provided the psychologist, were lost by him, and to add insult to injury he insinuated that this was an error on my part. Not to mention the resources, provided by the psychologist were irrelevant to my situation. I don’t recommend wasting time or money at this facility.

Years ago, my family was referred to Dr Cathy Moser to diagnose behavioural issues we were experiencing. I was diagnosed with ADHD, as suspected, as well as being misdiagnosed with a disorder that I do not have. Additionally, my other family member that was a patient at the same time was not diagnosed because Dr Moser said "they're too intelligent to have ADHD." Dr Moser insulted myself and other members of my family to our faces. She ignored all the signs of serious behavioural and developmental issues in her patient, leading to over a decade of trauma and hardship that could have been avoided. Perhaps she has improved in the years since, however my experiences with Dr Moser shows that she completely lacks the professional standard of care one would expect to receive from the supposed top child psychologist in Manitoba.

Cathy dealt with our two youngest children and some of their aggressive tendencies. Their office & staff was nothing short of amazing to deal with. Thank you everyone.

Did not have a good experience but I’m sure others will. It is a nice facility and well kept. If you are in need try it out!

Very very disappointed in Mind Matters Clinic. In October 2020 I had phoned and set up an appointment with Dr. Cathy Moser. I spoke with a receptionist and outlined clearly what I needed from a psychologist. I had three pages that outlined clearly what I needed from a psychologist, had the pages scanned at my family doctor's office, and they were sent to mind matters clinic. I am told that there is a 6 month wait until I can have an appointment with Dr. Cathy Moser. I was told after a 5 minute zoom meeting today, March 2021, that nobody at Mind Matters clinic and the psychologists are not able to help me with what I need and instead refer me to two different psychologists who might be able to help me, one of who I found is not taking new patients at the moment. 6 months is a very long wait just for them to tell they can't do what I need when I outline what I need very clearly and even have a list scanned and sent to them. Because of this situation my education has slowed and I had even taken time off of work just for them to tell me they can't do anything. They had the decency to not charge me for an appointment at least. I will never be in contact with this clinic again. This situation was avoidable.

Scamly expensive and nothing came out of my appointments except regret, as well beware the insurance company even said they could not cover the cost as it was a suspiciously over-excessive emount.

Dr. Cornock provided a series of about 5 sessions to produce an educational assessment and report. I would NOT recommend this service to anyone for the following reasons: The office was very disorganized with poor communication regarding both appointment times and the total cost of the report. There were quite a few unpleasant surprises along the way. My suggestion would be to get a written cost estimate and an emailed list of appointment times if you choose to go ahead. The final report was inaccurate in its assessment. I would be unable to use the report going forward. My efforts to communicate with the office following the assessment to express dissatisfaction and suggest improvements were stonewalled. Good luck with your search for good support.
