A short trail with observation deck , there are no facilities and very limited parking. nice views over the marsh with abundant birds at the right time of year..

This spot is the abandoned rail bed of one of the oldest railways in Ontario . The Cobourg and Peterborough Railway built around 1853 . This section was a bit later 1857 or so . Back in the day you could take the train over the trestle that crossed Rice Lake . Enjoy !
