★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This spot is the abandoned rail bed of one of the oldest railways in Ontario . The Cobourg and Peterborough Railway built around 1853 . This section was a bit later 1857 or so . Back in the day you could take the train over the trestle that crossed Rice Lake . Enjoy !
