Michaelbrook Golf

This is the hidden gem of the Okanagan, a golf course in the middle.of town, its so quiet and peaceful and beautiful, such an incredible course.

Nice short track. Great for short game practice or great place for the novice golfers. Food is excellent. I have tried, Fish and chips, Steak sandwich, Chicken wings. All were great.

Im an amatuer golfer, went there for first time today, nice course with good maintenence, greatly recommend.

New new review and now 5 stars finally! May 30/22... The young guy server is just so top notch excellent! We were there the other day again and he is easily one of the best servers in all of Kelowna! So polite, so engaging, so friendly! Please thank him for us! I tipped him huge too! My 1 star review below was for 2020 and 2019 and now since some new caring owners are in place, and cause the super awful Tom has left, (he sold course finally!!), my new review from today and being there to enjoy the updated patio and some nice new features, especially the nice new signage, has now moved up to 4 stars! I hope to move it to 5 but Tom banned me from the course for just being honest ONLY with the awful tee boxes I noted and terrible overall condition of course in 2019 and 2020 and I did not go there in 2021! I could not believe as well while I was golfing that they chopped down a very large tree while I was playing that fairway! All legit to just give an honest review and not be banned! I could not believe it one day in late season 2020 when I ventured in to try and play and to be told Tom had banned me! I never had been banned form anywhere else ever in my life! I look forward to playing there again...? If not in the old computer as still a "Tom ban!" ??? Geez!!!!!! Former reviews below... Because of the review I made in 2019, (a very detailed and honest one to the point), I was banned from playing this course by the egomaniac owner TOM! I always have liked the restaurant side of Michaelbrook as always good food for so many years and good friendly service on the patio and in the restaurant and have until last yr been dining here and at times playing here for over a decade. I could not believe it when I gave my name in at pro shop last late Fall and to be told I was BANNED by the owner from golfing here! Here is that review below...(that got me banned because of pure honesty!)...

They are open for another year! Just went for lunch and the food is always good. Lovely to see Chris’s face again. She is such a great server!

Other than hole 9 from the front nine, it's pretty easy for a skilled golfer. No elevation and not many traps, so good to get off any rust. As a beginner, the course works for me. Grounds are better taken care of then the other executive course (Mission). Make sure you put on bug spray though during mosquito season and be careful of flying balls as some holes overlap each other. Overall, good value for your money. We did 9 holes for $26 and finished in about 2 hours.

This is a good course overall, and a good difficulty level for beginners for the most part, especially with minimal sand and water traps. However, some tee boxes are very close to other greens and fairways, which does become a bit of a hazard if you’re a player that is still working on their accuracy. The grounds are well taken care of, the course is visually quite nice, and the price is great. My biggest issue with this course is that there are only 2 bathrooms, which are in the clubhouse, and in a small building at the other end of the course. This means that bathrooms are basically inaccessible for around 14 of 18 holes. I think the course should strongly consider getting a few portable bathrooms set up in between, especially since this is a sport that is often played while enjoying some beverages.

Our foursome had an incredible Saturday at Michaelbrook. The course is in amazing shape and great value for the price point. We also enjoyed the addition of a beverage cart to the course. After our round, we got a table outside and ordered ribs, chicken burger, fish and chips, and a loaded hamburger, washed down with 4 Long Island Iced Teas. The food was of highest quality, and delicious. Servers were attentive and personable. We will definitely be returning this summer. Bravo!
