Very helpful staff, and a good selection of rackets and shoes at multiple price points.

Ordered a new racquet online after taking advantage of their trial service. I had included a note with my order and they went above and beyond to follow up and help me find the right one. Outstanding customer service.

Really unfriendly employees. It seems as though the staff can't be bothered to help. They obviously don't want/need the business. The store, racquetguys, is much better.

I went there a while back to get my boyfriend's racket regripped. I called ahead to make sure they were able to do it and they said it was no problem and to come on in. When I arrived, I was served by an older gentleman. He said not only could they not regrip due to 'staff shortage', but that other customers would hate me if I made them wait so he could get the regripping done. I was really thrown off by this. I said I called and they told me it could be done today. He just shrugged and said a halfhearted 'sorry'. I've worked in customer service and I get that staff shortages happen. But he could've been friendlier in his delivery of this news. I was super disappointed as my boyfriend's family are all avid tennis players and raved about this place.

I have been a long-time customer of Merchant of Tennis but multiple recent events have cemented my decision to no longer shop there. Every single one of my negative interactions at Merchant has been with one specific staff member named DOUG. Every time, this older gentleman has been very short and impatient with my wife and I (and even in interactions with other customers that I have observed first-hand). I originally attributed his rudeness as a one-time bad day he was having. But as I have (unfortunately) encountered him more times thereafter, I can, without a doubt, say that he is just a cranky, older man who is unwilling to take the time to help customers and answer their basic questions. Instead of patiently listening to and addressing a customer’s questions and concerns, he belittles the customer and abruptly responds in a way that makes the customer feel like they are incompetent. From now on, I will gladly spend the time travelling to RacquetGuys in Markham (as I know I will always receive much better customer service) than to return to Merchant and deal with Doug.

Had a terrible experience at Merchant of Tennis. I have been a regular customer for over seven years, but as of late, their customer service really has gone down hill. Similar to other recent reviews of this place, the staff are just plain rude now. Not just indifferent, but snarky and constantly belittling customers. I actually think the more appropriate word would be snobby. Won’t be coming back here. I know of many other who also aren’t going back.

Picked up an online order here. I drove one hour from my workplace to there during peak hours. It is definitely worth the time!!! I am so happy that I came to the store. Employees were super friendly and knowledgeable. Would love to go there again!!

For just $10 (plus tax), you can demo two rackets for a week! After demoing 4, I ended up going with the Wilson Burn. Before placing my order, I called in and spoke with a gentleman and he was very patient when helping me choose strings and explaining why he thought that’d be best for me. I wish there was another location closer to downtown. With that being said, the store is super accommodating. I ordered a racket and asked if it could be complete by the time I return my demo just to save me a trip. They are also flexible on demo return time if at time of purchase you let them know. Inside the store, the shoe selection is good and they seem to have lots of sizes in the back. I ended up ordering shoes online and picking them up in store. The clothing selection is also pretty good, given the size of the store. They carry men, women, and kids. I highly recommend coming here for all your tennis needs.
