★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is clear that this area use to be a beautiful natural area.now most of the hill/ mountain is covered in massive houses and most access to the trails are only via rich people's personal backyards that back onto the small hilltop trail area. It is truly devestating to see the gross development in this area that has basically destroyed most of Middleton "mountain" except a small area at the very top. Don't expect a natural area type hike. It is a small steep hilltop, walking above a giant suburban development, in a area with very short grasses. A view of Vernon and surrounding area. The google directions to the hiking trail took me to the middle of the suburban development and I had to drive around the hill for 10 min to find a small publically accessible trail. Most of the trails are only accessible via people's backyards that back onto the open grassland area.
