Terrible quality, rude and arrogant customer service. They don't want you to know the exact price of any upgrade until you put the 100 thousand dollars for downpayment. They cheat about quality and colors. You as a customer should have a say in your choices and quality, but no, Mattamy do not respect their customers! In first year in the house the sink drop in the kichen, we had a fload, the "hard wood" is chipping everywhere, a window change, cracked doors, redone the complete staircase, the paint on doors looks 30 years old, focet broken, roof leaking, the nails popping out everywhere...The upgrades for 70 thousand dollars are cheap looking, noting like a model home. Please for half million dollars without upgrades you can shop some place else, do yourself a favor.

I recently completed my home designer appointment with Erin Bradford. Thanks for your flexibility and accommodations as I changed multiple appointments due to COVID-19 uncertainties. During this time, Erin accommodated our request patiently. On the day of the appointment, I moved it to the ZOOM call with a worry that it won't be a pleasant experience, but Erin made our experience very pleasant and comfortable. Erin knows her work and she is on top of market trends to provide her recommendations. Post appointment, she is very punctual in sending the agreed terms and conditions and reviewed any changes with all the additional details where a home buyer can analyze and choose the options available. Last but not least, Erin is very transparent with recommendations based on the need of the home buyer. Bravo Erin, hope to work with you in the future.

I moved into the Blackstone community in November 2020. My experience right from signing the purchase agreement to the closing was fantastic. Unfortunately, that cannot be said where the warranty appointments are concerned - my warranty coordinator is constantly changing, techs dont show up during their appointment and constant follow-ups are required with the warranty team to ensure the job is done.

Horrible customer service on our design appointment. We were denied every single request we had made and were given the cold answer of “Sorry, we don’t offer that” then looking away like we weren’t in the middle of a conversation. She didn’t look one bit sorry to me. The house was supposed to be customizable to an extent but we felt so much constraint throughout the way. Absolutely no flexibility whatsoever. Keep in mind that this house is over $1M. They do not give you many material options and they do not allow you to supply your own material either. They even refuse to leave something unfinished for you to do it yourself later. They have light fixtures in awkward locations forcing you to pay an upgrade fee to change them to locations that make sense. We paid a large amount of money to upgrade the kitchen to the chef’s kitchen but the light fixtures were kept in the locations of the old kitchen layout. In this case, the light fixtures are not over the island anymore forcing us to pay an upgrade feeX2 to move them to be over the island which is the only place that makes sense for the chef’s kitchen layout. They also force you to get the hood fan from them and pay for it because it’s considered an upgrade. You literally can’t supply your own hood fan even if it’s exactly the same as one of the models they offer. Why? Make it make sense…. They force the HVAC size on you. Made us get the most expensive one. It costs double the price to get the appliances through them. Make sure you supply the appliances yourself. A ripoff of $500 if you have more than one colour in the kitchen. They divide the house by areas and force you to get one material per the area they have specified. This is making us have hardwood floors go halfway through the mudroom area and the other half be tile. Some retarded designer decided that halfway through a hallway is a great cutting point. Be aware of the hot water tank rental mentioned on the agreement of purchase. You’ll save money long term if you buy your own hot water tank once instead of rent forever. Honestly, if the housing market wasn’t ridiculously competitive at the moment, we wouldn’t have even considered buying a house with Mattamy. Overall, Mattamy needs to step-up their game. The lack of flexibility is unbearable and unacceptable. They treat their customers as numbers instead of attending to their individual/unique needs. This obvious ripoff business they’re doing is not going to get you far for too long.

The worst builder in Ottawa. Very poor workmanship. Warranty team breaks something while fixing something else. They always say the same thing that they fix whatever they break, but they never do. This company is built on lies.

just moved into a new build by these builder and already there’s a giant leak from the second floor flooding the kitchen ceiling and bulkhead. When asked when the repair for the kitchen will be done, the builder threw up their hands and said deal with the contractor and that they will take their time... Are you kidding? That’s the whole point of the builder’s job to make sure things get done right! Unacceptably poor quality! Avoid these clowns at all costs!

Terrible workmanship with no accountability for the work they have done. If you have any problems with them, good luck reaching a resolution. They forcefully installed a defective bath tub which over time led to a huge leak in the ceiling. They initially refused to pursue the case stating our warranty was over. When confronted with substantial evidence from different technicians that identified Mattamy's poor workmanship as the source of the problem, they still deny responsibility and now suggest that work by a third party has been done and we cannot prove the tub is the cause of the damage. Please take a look at the images yourself and ask if this is a company you want to be buying homes from. I definitely will never buy with them again. I recommend you consider almost any other home builder too - you will see Mattamy at the bottom of most review sites.
