About Mary Brown's Chicken

The Mary Brown’s Story

It was 1969. While the world watched the first man walk on the moon, we celebrated the first Guest walking through our doors in St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador. Needless to say, it was a giant leap for chicken. Word quickly spread and stores opened across the province. It soon became the chicken of choice. Iconic even. It was time to, pardon the pun, spread our wings.

By 1972, the secret of Mary Brown’s tantalizing chicken was out. Two stores opened in Ontario that year in Oshawa and Mississauga. From there, growth expanded west to Alberta, back east to the Maritimes, out to the Prairies and more recently, all the way to British Columbia and the Northwest Territories.

Today there are almost 200 Mary Brown’s locations across Canada, and that number keeps climbing rapidly – coast-to-coast, in small towns and big cities – as more and more Canadians fall in love with our delicious food! Sit tight, we’ll be in your neighbourhood soon!

I was surprised and pleased to find a "No fillers!" label on the bag. For that reason alone, definitely my choice for deep fried chicken forevermore!

Ordered chicken tenders, the pieces were small so they added two extra. And didn't skimp on the dipping sauce. Excellent customer service.

Good food reasonably priced. Sometimes a longer wait than I'd like, but that's the price of fresh food.

Overrated grocery store chicken and potato wedges. It's decent, but there is much better in Winnipeg for the same price. It may be popular on the east coast, but so is voting liberal.

Better than those other fast food chicken places. It actually tastes like home cooking at its best. The meats actually juicy, and seems to have the right amount of seasoning (not salty) the coleslaw has the right amount of sweetness...I haven’t tried the onion rings yet but I heard it melts in your mouth.

Chicken and all other menu items are great. The Chicken alone is the best in the City but it's kinda pricy. I think they'd be better served by making all menu items affordable for everyone.

Use to be fresh and good now it is terrible. The chicken fingers sucked. Can’t believe two years ago everything was hot and fresh. Now fried earlier and not good. No water available after you run out of your drink. Eat anywhere else Early review was. Monday is big mary special $3.99. Its great tasting and a whole breast- yum. Worth it!

As always, the experience was awesome. We went there to get the Guest Appreciation Deal and o boi it was a really good deal ? The staff (particularly the lady) was courteous and helpful as always, the wait time was clearly told and it took less than that though. The chicken was hot and delicious, although i wished i could have got both the dark meat pieces as i am not a white meat fan but it was not a big deal. Overall a splendid experience.
