Marquee Theatrical Productions

My two kids have attended several summer camps with Marquee. In the course of their two week camps, my inexperienced kids learned a wealth of material for their ensemble parts. They learned more than ten songs, with accompanying dance numbers as well. The staff pour themselves into building up the performer's confidence and ability. I witnessed a lot of passion from staff. Certainly, there was focus on lead actors. And rightly so, since they had hundreds of lines and others were dependent upon them for queues and leadership. The sounds of Charlie and the Chocolate factory still resonate in my house, two years later! I highly recommend this camp and their year-round program is also an excellent opportunity for children's theatre. We were a part of the pandemic production of Moana, which presented many challenges (performing outdoors and filming instead of a live show), but those challenges were taken on by staff and once again, my kids enjoyed their time immensely. Thank you for running such an inspiring program!

I can't say enough good things about Marquee! Our first experience with them was attending live performances they had put together, which we had seen advertised. Our family loves live theatre so why not attend it right in your own town! We were amazingly impressed to see it was comprised of youth and fully blown away by what the cast (and obviously staff) were able to create together! We learned about the children's summer camp programs and our 2 kids were instantly interested. At the start of that summer our children partook in their first full scale musical! Over the two-week period, they learned so much, from lyrics, lines, blocking and dances. They were proud of themselves, took risks in a safe setting and then eventually in front of a big unknown audience. They did things they never thought they would do! For the REST of the summer, the songs kept echoing in our house and they would teach any friends of theirs the steps to the dances. It was a very impactful and memorable experience for them. The staff go out of their way to make all feel included, important and recognized for what they are contributing to the whole performance. Our children viewed their ensemble roles as important, since they learned it takes a whole cast of people to create a performance (important life lesson?). We've since enjoyed 3 performances and 2 more our own children were a part of and each time we were WOWED by what Marquee produces. They are giving people of ALL ages the chance to partake in the experience and magic of musical theatre in ways that suit each individual and their comfort level, while also bringing out the best in them! We are truly lucky to have Marquee Theatre so close to home and I know our family will continue over the years to enjoy the expertise they offer to the whole community!

My 3 daughters have been going to Marquee Theatre programs for over 10 years, summer camps, the year round program and vocal lessons. Marquee is wonderful- each of my 3 girls are very different and they all had amazing experiences and learned skills that help them in every day life. Sheryl and her staff truly care about every child, and create opportunities for everyone, it is always about the cast (team) and they have parts for everyone. It is a great program, they have fun and they learn as well. I am also inspired by the sponsorship/grants that they have for kids who might not get a chance to do an after school activity, as well as the performances they have during the skill year for classes and also all abilities. Marquee is more than an acting class, they teach compassion and leadership as well as giving back to our community. Thanks Marquee for always giving my kids the best memories of their summer.

Marquee is a wonderful and fun place to send your child to. Not only do you learn skills such as singing, dancing and acting, but you also learn many others like collaboration, confidence, etc. They make it so fun to learn it! I’ve been going to Marquee for 4 years and have done 14 shows! Every single show was larger than life! It helped me get out of my shell. Even if you don’t get the role you were hoping for, they still make you feel just as important as any other character. During these rough times with covid, Marquee has still found a way to provide us with safe and fun ways to put on our shows! I think Marquee is a bundle of fun and I highly recommend sending your kid, if they like to sing, dance, act or even for the heck of it! Me and many other Marquee students have said it is our second home! Thank you Sincerely

I have never been so grateful to an organization before. The care and expertise they have given while instructing my child was above and beyond anything one could ever expect to receive. This group has the best teachers who really understand children and so many issues that children are dealing with these days. My daughter had grown in confidence beyond anything we could have ever imagined, and we believe it had everything to do with her time at Marquee. THANK YOU for all that you do :)

I can't say enough about Marquee and it's staff. My daughter has been Marquee's member for almost 6 years (since she was 6) and I am sure it will remain her second home for years to come! The professionalism and dedication level is incredible and I am forever grateful for having them in our community. They kept going throughout the pandemic and found innovative ways to deliver their programs. Thank you, Sheryl and staff!

We have had two children attend programs at Marquee. Our youngest started in the Kinderstages program in 2016, at the age of four, and was in six Kinderstages productions, one summer camp and one and a half Intermediate productions (thanks to Covid, the second one was cut short). His confidence on stage grew, which was evident even outside of Marquee, when he was asked to be the solo Emcee for his aftercare’s spring concert when he was only in Grade 1! Recently, we enrolled our thirteen year old daughter in March Break camp. She has been wanting to try a theatre program for a while, but she has some special needs and we were unsure if her needs would be accommodated. We needn’t have been concerned as Sheryl and the staff were very understanding and ensured that she was fully included in all of the dances and activities (even on a day that she has to leave early for appointments). We’ll be back for summer camp! :)
