Loved getting my massage here! It was clean and relaxing. I got in a bit earlier for my appointment and they were able to take me in right away. The girl who did my massage was amazing! I booked in for a deep tissue massage and she was attentive to how much pressure was comfortable for me. After I was done I felt like a million bucks! I would recommend going here for a massage any day! Plus the price for the massage is under 40 dollars so very easy on the wallet. You won't regret going here!

Amazing massages at a great price! They are students so be understanding that a teacher will be present if not throughout the service at least at the beginning. They will also question themselves (We all do it when we are learning or unsure) so help build their confidence by telling them EXACTLY what you like! More or less pressure, to much of this or more of that please and thank you will go a LONG way in both of your experiences and their education!

There is so much I can say about this amazing school. Class intakes start every two months which is awesome knowing that you don't have to wait to start working towards your new profession! Staff is extremely caring and understanding about events that might happen during your time with the school. You also get to build up clientele through the clinic you get your hours from which in itself is incredible. I think this school was one of the best choices I've made.

It doesn't take up too much of your time to go to school here. i was only there for a couple days per week. I did have some trouble with the class room material as I find I am more of a hands on learner. The teachers help you through the class room material and there is tutors at your disposal when I needed the extra boost in studying. The clinic time was the best part for me. It was great being able to practice everything that I have learned and apply it. Overall this place is a great place to learn to be a massage therapist!

I loved it here at the college! It was such a friendly environment to study in and I was able to keep a full time job while doing full time studies here as its only about 2 and a half days out of the week to go. It was hard juggling everything with school, work and the kids but I pushed and graduated! After Grad I ended up getting a job placement which gave me good experience. I am now a full time massage Therapist and it was the best thing i could have done for myself. The course offers a lot of information to learn but it was manageable as my teachers helped me through it all. Great place to study and to find an amazing career!

I really enjoyed this school while I attended, it taught me a lot about the world of massage therapy. How to treat certain injuries with massage techniques, proper etiquette used in a work environment, various stretches that clients can use after their appointments to help them out with pain. This school is very informative and I've always found the teachers and staff to be very kind and helpful. Its an accelerated program so it is a lot more to handle at once but its well worth every penny. Glad I chose this school for my career path.

Louisa must make commission by enrolling students and getting them student loans as she was sooo salesy and even shady. She told me that Alberta is switching to 3000 hrs for RMTs which is entirely untrue. I had to ask her the same questions numerous times as she just evaded them as the answers were unfavourable. I will not be attending this school as they tried to convince me to retake 1st year which was completely unnecessary. You do not get a legit certificate for cupping or any other of the additional "courses". All the students i have talked to about this school say that there is a revolving door or teachers as the school wants everything taught exactly their way. Nova was fine to deal with and was informative. Thanks anyways but no thanks.

I am currently a student here at the Calgary campus. I would not recommend anyone attend this college until they stop doing their courses online. You lose out on a TON of hands on learning experience. Most people in my class are currently very ill prepared for work as an RMT and we are almost graduated. About to be a lot of really bad RMT's entering the workforce from any group who started attending MaKami during COVID. While all the teachers I have had are quite nice and knowledgeable, it's pretty poor learning that all the online lesson plans are just reading a PowerPoint verbatim that you have to read on your own anyways for homework... Plus the online classes are only 1.5 hours instead of spending the day on campus learning like you would have in pre-covid times. Really seems like they are just trying to save money on overhead by not having students come into the campus. (Covid restrictions have been lifted on campus for months now) But they are more than happy to take said money! If you do come to this school, be prepared not to get what you paid for - like hands on learning. Probably why they won't open clinic back up to the public, would be a lot of bad reviews on here since barely any of the students know what they are doing! Edit: Because you can't reply to the company response - they claim you should go to the tutoring dept for one on one sessions. Except they are booked two weeks in advance because no one is learning anything so everyone is having to go through tutoring. Tutoring is only 1-1.5 hr sessions and you aren't allowed to book more than one a week unless you have a learning disability. The Dean has been ripped a new one by every class so far, at least all the ones I have heard from, but he just keeps having town hall meetings to get yelled at more and pretends that no one has ever said anything negative to him previously; like he is only hearing the negative feed back for the first time, every time, hoping students will tell him everything is fine... instead of doing anything to fix the issues with Makami and the frustrations of the students. Literally paying 30 grand for people to read a powerpoint to me. What a joke. I also sent an email to the heads of the various departments and they promised our Orthopedic Assessment teacher would come in to spend an hour with us during our ANT class (our ONLY on campus class). She showed up one time, then we never saw her again. Try Vicars Massage School or Mount Royal University instead. I hear they are better and cheaper.
