★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Small, grassy, garden neighbor park that was once a home and lot and is situated amongst the home of the neighbors. Rubberized tiles surrounding the small play fort with slide. Word of caution. Check the interior of the small wooden covered fort for any drug related paraphernalia, before letting your kids run around.
Small gazebo near the back, again do a check. Many plastic toys donated by locals for whoever wants to play with them. Do clean up the toys after play session to avoid the Vancouver City, cleaning up the toys therefore disposing of many.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This park is amazing! Because it is some house lot that has had a park built instead it is really awesome. There are extra toys around for little ones, the regular equipment and some green areas to run around. There were other kids at this park when we went which was a bonus. My two year old really enjoyed it!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great little park , best for "2-5 years old" according to signage. Great shade most of the day which is probably the best part. Rubber matting on the ground. Enough grassy area to kick a ball around as well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Small little green space of a park, rather quaint! There is a children's playground and a few benches as well as a gazebo. It's nice and quiet if you want to get away from the busy Mt. Pleasant Park and Simon Fraser Elementary crowds.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A small park in Mount Pleasant neighbourhood with a wonderful gazebo which is a great place to sit. This small park has plenty of comfortable seats and pleasant inward views. Children enjoy the playground, and the gazebo is a wonderful place to sip lemonade or play some tunes on a guitar.
Major James Mathews 1878-1970 worked tirelessly to collect early pioneer records of Vancouver for over 41 years. Without his efforts, much of our city's history would never have been recorded.
Born in Wales, Mathews arrived in Vancouver in 1898. After distinguished service overseas in world war 1, he returned and began collecting letters, photographs, journals, paintings, even artifacts. He was variously described as courageous, colourful and controversial.
In 1971, his archives found a permanent home when Vancouver city archives was built and named in his honour.
