About Mabel Hill Farm Kitchen & Marketplace
The food created at Mabel Hill is a culmination of Chef Michael Brownlee’s culinary experiences as well as his love for the farm and the fresh, quality ingredients it has to offer. During his teen years, Chef Michael worked alongside his grandparents at Rudy’s Fruit and Vegetable Farm. This instilled in him a passion for growing as well as a strong work ethic, which has served him well throughout his culinary career.
His culinary journey began at the Culinary Arts Institute of Canada in Charlottetown, P.E.I., where he completed a 2 year culinary arts diploma followed by a 2 year Degree in Culinary Operations. As well as equipping him with the skills and fundamentals required to run a successful food operation, the program provided him opportunity to gain invaluable practical experience. In the summer of 2012, Chef Michael was hired at the award winning Relais-Chateau property, The Inn at Bay Fortune at Bay Fortune, P.E.I.. Here, he learned how to create a seasonal, fine dining experience showcasing local food at the highest level.

โ โ โ โ โ An amazing experience from start to finish. Mabel hill stepped up after another local restaurant left a pre booked bridal party hanging at the last second. Mabel Hill took us in (12 of us, at 9pm, despite closing at 10!) And gave us amazing service, even having the kitchen stay late to be sure every one of us was fed. Everyone raved about their meals, and my steak was perfect. The staff went above and beyond to fix the nightmare we encountered at a nearby restaurant. Thank you for all you did you make the evening special again.

โ โ โ โ โ Amazing experience! Cool building with great atmosphere. The staff were very friendly.
The meal was amazing! I had the Angus strip loin with twice-baked potato and endvine caesar. Each part was amazing and it was obvious that all the contributing flavours are carefully and intentionally curated. The pineapple upside-down for dessert was a great way to finish off the meal. Portion sizes were excellent too.
I will be back next time Iโm in Nipawin.

โ โ โ โ โ I have read about this place a year ago and was on my list of restaurants to eat at. It didn't disappoint.
We tried the chefs choice menu and every dish was fabulous. We were in a food coma by the time it was done.
Great selection of wines and cocktails.
The farm to fork is truly utilized in every dish.
Tara our server was fabulous. She was very knowledgeable in every dish she served us. She chatted us first to see what our expectations were for the evening and did a great job served at a pace that was perfect for us.

Our server was AMAZING with our group of 8 for dinner, which included some dietary sensitivities...from the uniquely crafted cocktails, to the carefully thought-out appetizers, sumptuous entrรฉes and the perfectly sweet dessert finish, this place hit all the right notes and more! Everyone in our group was thrilled with their meals and the service was fabulous. They also serve lunch and have a selection of fresh produce and local made products to purchase at the front counter. Well worth the stop or even a detour for farm fresh fine dining at its best!
