J	Jeremy Bjornson on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was tough. We had alignment problems, car pulling left or right as we were driving. Took it in... they suggested - upper and lower ball joints, replace tie rods, front ball joints, that should fix it - while we are at it we think you should do the front brakes, alternator belts - power steering flush and a couple of new tires in the back. $3000 - well if I'm going to get my steering issues fixed and all this other stuff I guess go for it. Went to pick up the car - the bill was a few hundred higher than quoted. They checked into it and the tires they quoted me were a couple of hundred more at my purchase time. I thought ok I get it - THEN I DROVE AWAY - and NO, the steering issue had not changed AT ALL. Super disappointed. We had a scheduled trip and couldn't address the problem with Lyles. Over the next two weeks I started reading reviews of this place. Lots of 5 stars but every 5 -6 review was a story like mine. Ouch! I wish I had read the reviews first. And of course the owner rebuts with "if they had a problem they should have come back to talk to us" and "this is a safety issue and I have full confidence in my mechanics" and so on. Not everyone is comfortable confronting people regarding such unreal circumstances. WHEN I RETURNED FROM OUR HOLIDAY I WENT TO ANOTHER SHOP AND MY PROBLEM WAS FRONT BUSHINGS - 800 BUCKS. Now the other work may or may not have had to be done but the reality these days is that EXTRA $3000 paid is a lot of money that could have made things very difficult financially for some people. I'll let you decide if you should take your vehicle there

The mechanic spent about an hour on it and said a catalytic converter will fix everything. It did. But about a week later, I heard a different noise on the highway. I went back to the shop. The owner came for a drive with me on the highway until he heard the noise. We went back to the shop. I watched as the mechanic used a welder to repair my tailpipe. I was told no charge! I felt like they went above and beyond with their service. Thank you!

We called lyall as they are around the corner from our place. We had the car towed there, and they got to work immediately to get it fixed. We had the car back the next afternoon. They were reasonably priced, efficient, and the staff has been so friendly! Definitely where we will continue to go from now on !

Dropped it off in the morning and by late lunch time the brake pads and rotors were replaced, the fluids and air filter changed, it was given a full inspection, and it was vacuumed and washed. All of that for a very competitive rate. Moreover the owner was friendly, and patiently answered all my questions without hesitation. Based on this work, I would recommend Lyall St Service to any friends or family with vehicle problems.

I thought it was time I write a review for this business, and was shocked to read the last person's comment. It definitely doesn't sound like anyone I know at this shop. The owner, Peter, is always pleasant and easy to talk to. The mechanics are top notch. People are bringing their cars here from all over town because they trust Peter and his crew for over 30 years, like I do. Will recommended them over and over to anyone who asks.

Brought my 05 A4 Quattro to another shop near Burnside ( won't say whom) and was told head gasket is required. Appx $2600 estimate. Thanked them and left. After speaking with friends, neighbours, and Military Families. Went to Lyall, Street Service, 20 minutes later was told that Coolant flange is cracked and needing replacement. Total cost less than $300, car is running perfect and no more leaks!! Lyall will now get all my business and referrals. Great people, great prices, and great service. Thank you again Ryley,
J	Justin Malchow on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Brought my vehicle in for and Out of Province Inspection shortly after having it serviced at my usual, and reputable, garage. I was astounded at the service from the front desk, the woman was dismissive and acted as if my business was interrupting her. This also occurred on the other instances I had been into the shop for a tire repair. The shop then called and told me I may as well sell the vehicle due to the extremely high mileage and number of repairs required. I read the list of repairs that had caused my vehicle to fail and was shocked to see something as trivial as a small piece of plastic missing from a door handle resulted in "dangerous protruding metal", causing my car to fail inspection. There is no metal there, the whole assembly is plastic, let alone any that was protruding. This to me screamed cash grab. Many of the failed things listed had been done within the last couple years at my usual shop and with the limited driving done since these repairs it's hard to believe they were worn to the point of danger. I took my car to another garage who passed the vehicle with $150 repair bill compared to their proposed $2500, it would have been more had I been given a fully detailed quote. Both my usual garage and the one that gave the second inspection said that it was clear that they assumed they could take advantage of the situation and tried to run up the bill as much as possible. I will definitely not be going back here or recommending this garage to anyone.
